Pink Saturday

It is Pink Saturday over at Beverly's blog How Sweet The Sound. Today I wanted to share this Depression glass candy dish. The Pink does not show as beautiful in the picture as in person. This was a wedding gift from a friend. The napkin that it sits on is not Pink but is special also. About 2 1/2 yrs. ago I did a napkin swap and Sweet Jen from Australia sent me a set of these white napkins with an embroidered flower along with a set of blue napkins with a cream lace on them and a set up homemade napkin rings made from the Australian gum tree using the leaf and the nuts from the gum tree.I just love these. I know they are not Pink but I just cherish them.

Hope you all go out and have a wonderful Pink Saturday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Sweet Suprise

I had to share this sweet little suprise that just got delivered. The boy that Gabby likes, Cooper made her these turkeys.
He had to go out of town so his mother brought them over. Gabby is so excited you would think he gave her a ring. She keeps saying,"I can't believe he made me turkeys! " Too cute! I think these are precious. Oh young 3rd grade romance!
Hope you are having a good day. I have gotten all my fall decor down and will be cleaning everything to decorate. Not sure if that is going to get done today I am feeling a little off. I have to wait to put up trees until Coco & Kyle get Talmage a gate playpen so my 12 fter doesn't fall on him. So I might wait till tomorrow. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving ! I didn't get a chance to post earlier. I woke up this morning not feeling so hot even though I was in bed by 9:30 last night. After I was up for awhile and started prep for dinner I started to feel better.
I made a Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake, 2 Pumpkin Pies, 1 Pecan Pie and 1 Banana Cream Pie. The Banana Cream was mostly for Kyle, that is his favorite.
I wasn't expecting to eat until 2 or 2:30 but the turkey was done by 12:30. Dallas had is girl friend, Sarah, over to eat with us and this evening they were going to her house to eat dinner with her family. I just wanted to share a few pictures with you all.
Faith and Gabby before lunch.
Talmage waiting for his first true turkey dinner.
Our table.
Our turkey. The drink is Sparkling Apple Cranberry Cider,(didn't want anyone thinking I was hitting the bottle) he he
I wanted to post just a few things that I am thankful for:
My sweet hubby & best friend
Our wonderful fun family- We have great children, a sweet son in love and the greatest grandson in the world.
My Heavenly Father for his forgiveness and understanding
The gospel and the guidance it gives me
My extended family (even if they don't get along with each other.)
Mark, Renee and their great family
Great bloging friends
Crafts and this is a long list under this little word.
Food and cooking
Decorating
Being able to read, understand and learn
Our great country & the freedoms we have
The great cool weather we had today
These are just a few of the things I am thankful for in my life. The list goes on and everyday we need to be thankful for all that we are blessed with in our lives, including the struggles that we are handed for if we didn't have these we wouldn't understand how blessed we truly are.
May you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. My love extends across the miles with so many of you. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Update

So silly me decided to stay up and watch the new season premier of Housewives of the OC last night that started at 11 and went till midnight. ARGG! You have to remember I get up usually at 4ish or so and then in bed by 10. I paid for it today. I have been so tired today. After I picked up the little girls I tried to take a nap and no one wanted me to sleep. So I haven't been the most productive. I did a little of this and that and the only thing I got done on my sweet little stocking is the sewing on of the green sequins and beads.

There is a bunch of pieces to this and it is going to be so pretty.
Tonight Alan and I decided to do a date night to kick off the holiday season, so we are making dinner together and eating in our bedroom. The kiddos are already fed. I love cheap datenights and spending time with him. I am going to bed by 10 so I can get up and get the turkey in the roaster early. I cook it in a roaster that I got several years ago this way the oven is freed up. Someday I will have 2 ovens.
After school today E'lyse came home with a letter saying she has made the gifted program at her Jr. High. She was happy about it till she read that her schedual is going to be shifted. Oh well. Way to go E'lyse! Dad and I are very proud of you!
So off to date night. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Today is Wednesday and that means it is time for Whatcha Working on Wednesday! You can go over to Leslie's blog and sign up to let others know what you are up to.
Yesterday I got the stocking that I won in the mail So in between the other things I had to do last night, along with eating dinner, we watched a Christmas movie and getting kiddos to bed I cut the pieces out, and there are a lot of pieces. WOW so much fun! These are some of them
All done cutting Then I packed the colors separately and put them into a container to work on today when I get a chance.
I will be doing some baking of pies, Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake, making the stuffing and doing prep work for tomorrow. I also need to work on some other projects that I have on the back burner for Christmas. I also want to do a quick clean of the house for tomorrow.
I wanted to share with you the cute turkeys that Gabby and Faith made at school. Gabby got to make pumpkin pie at school yesterday so her turkey has the recipe for the pie filling.
When Alan came in last night he had bought me these beautiful roses to say thank you for supporting him through all this. We are going to be okay. He shouldn't have spent the money, but they sure are pretty and smell so good.
Okay so I need to get going to get my day moving along. Girls get out of school extra early today and I have to pick them up. It started raining about 8 this morning and is continuing . YEAH!!!!!!! I love rainy days they motivate me.
For those of you traveling please be safe and enjoy your time with family and friends.
You all have a great day and tomorrow a l Gratitude post (of course!)

FHE & Pin The Feathers on The Turkey

Last night for our Family Home Evening we had a really good lesson on a Thankful Heart and Being Happy. It entailed that if we are resentful and bitter we can not be happy. So true don't you think.
I loved this quote that I printed out for everyone to keep in their scriptures is this,"Those who live in thanksgiving daily, however, are usually among the world's happiest people. And they make others happy." This just hits so close to home. I know way to many people ( okay family members ) who are this way. Anyway I wanted to share pictures of the game and our treat. The game was kind of a last minute idea so no laughing at my lame Turkey. I made a big Turkey who was featherless so we had to get blindfolded and pin the feathers on him. Dallas would pick up those who he could and spin them to make them dizzy. This just made it even funnier. When it was my turn Dallas took the top tape off of the picture and I ended up hanging the feathers on the wall. Alan brought home some doughnuts for our treat.

We had a lot of fun with this. So I am going to do Put the Ornament on the Christmas Tree for a December FHE. I just love how much laughing there was. Have a fun Tuesday.
Just to let you all know the color Black has won for my great garage sale chair. And more news there is suppose to be a storm moving in for Thanksgiving. YEAH!!!! I am so happy.

A Chair, A Saw and A Pancake

I know I am posting late. It has been a DAY! I wanted to share some pictures with you and maybe get a little input.

First of all I have had this chair for several months. I bought it at a garage sale for $5. It had the original price of $169.00 so I got a good deal. The thing is I want to paint it. I am not sure what color to paint it though. I will be recovering it to match the colors of the great room. The colors of the material in it is red, browns , green and gold. I am thinking either white or black. I would love opinions of all you great bloggy friends.

This is Sunday Morning as I was starting breakfast and getting a roast in the crock pot I discovered the roast wouldn't fit in the crock!!!! What is a girl to do. Ask for my Sweeties help. So he went out and got a saw, cleaned the blade and Son-In-Love held it for him as he cut it to fit in perfectly. Does this make us Red Necks?

This is a chocolate chip pancake that I thought looked like this hibiscus! What do you think? Okay mostly the shape.
On Sunday we went to visit my parents after Sacrament. We then came home and had dinner. The roast was yummy if I must say so myself.
So there is now almost 3 days till Thanksgiving. I am praying it will ran on Thanksgiving and give us a little colder weather. Last year it felt like I was making a faux Thanksgiving dinner in the middle of the summer. The kitchen was so hot I had to crank down the AC to make it bearable to be in. Gotta love the valley of the SUN!
Time to get ready for dinner and FHE. Have a great night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday! If you don't know what Pink Saturday is you can go over to Beverly's blog How Sweet The Sound . It is Pink things on parade! I wanted to share my new little doggy treat container that houses the sweet treats for my Nellie in my craft room. This is Nellie on her bed And this is her treat container side view and the top . The next picture is the sweetest little wrapping paper from Target. 40 sq ft for $1.00 bargin city. I think the little penguins on it are so cute and in Pink even

Oh by the way Nellie does wear a Pink collar with jewels on it but her hair is too long to see it. I have been trying to get a picture for a while of it but can't catch her at the right time.
Anyway, today is preporations for Thanksgiving, getting ready for the Sabath, organizing shelves and what ever else creeps into my day. Go have yourself a great PINK SATURDAY! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

We Don't Know What The Z is for.

These are pictures that Gabby drew after school today. This is Gabby and her Love Cooper.
This is Erynn the Love Crusher who likes Cooper too. But Cooper's heart belongs to Gabby Notice the LC on her shirt. Erynn doesn't stand a chance to win Coopers heart. This is all according to Gabby.
I can't figure out what the Z on the shirts are for. But great pictures. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I WON!!!!!!!!!!!

I WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't want to sound snotty or bragging but I actually won the stocking. Oh my goodness! I am just giddy with the excitement of a little kid on Christmas morning (or myself on Christmas morning). I won the stocking giveaway from The Blonde Duck of the cute blog A Duck In Her Pond. Thank you so much Blonde Duck for this wonderful stocking. EEEKKKKK I am overly excited about this. I have entered giveaways but never won and being that I love Christmas this is so awesome. Since I have won this I have decided to make my tree that is in the kitchen/dinning room area a special sugar plum tree. I have been having ideas using my polymor clay and fun craft items I have to make this a very special tree. My little girls will be so excited about this stocking. This made my week. On to make all the plans for my tree to match the stocking.
I would also like to thank all of you wonderful well wishers and great blogasphere buddies who are praying for our family. It is truly wonderful to have all of you there and prayers produce miracles.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Aloha & Rant

The other day Gabby came in from playing out back. She had taken a frawn from our miniature palm tree and made a grass skirt. Well kind of. I think it is funny. She is a very imaginative gal. Excuse the puppies head ( silly Cosmo always trying to get in the middle of everything.)

She was doing much better today and went to school. It also helped that yesterday she found out from her older sister that the little boy she likes in her class got his desk moved next to hers. Boy am I in trouble she is only in 3rd grade. EEK!
Coco is under the weather today but still up and about, (Mommies don't get rest days very often.) I wasn't very helpful with taking over Talmage although she probably wouldn't have let me.
I don't want to complain but I got a bone to pick with MOTHER NATURE!! I am sick and tired of the 80's. I miss the cold, snow and all that wonderful weather. Sniff sniff I wish it was colder. I had to turn the AC on again yesterday because it was so stinking hot in the house. I don't do heat!! OK rant over for now.
Have a great afternoon and evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Wednesday What I'm NOT Working On

Last night before I went to bed I had all this list of things to work on today and report for Whatcha Working on Wednesday. This didn't happen. A little time before we normally get up about 3:45 Gabby came in and said she was feeling sick. Sure enough a high fever and pale. So I made her some toast. Alan went and got her some 7UP. She had some toast and 7UP got sick a couple of times, slept off and on. She has eaten some different things that sounded good to her and is doing a little better. She was a little upset she was trying to keep her record of Perfect Attendance at school.
After having a hard time of going to sleep last night I wasn't ready to get up before 4. I cleaned the house and have taken care of an errand. My vacuum cleaner broke. I felt a little silly but I called my girlfriend and asked if I could borrow hers today and got my house all vacuumed. It is almost time to pick up Faith and my friends daughter. I am on pick-up duty this week. I am then planning on going to Fry's to get one of the great sale turkeys they have for next week.
Alan went to work to finish up and turn in paper work. He had a couple of people he was going to go see today to start networking for a job. We are planning on working together and getting all the house items done that have been put on the back burner since he had this past job that consumed so much of his time. I appreciate all the loving comments. It means a lot to me to have all you wonderful ladies out there praying for us and reading and supporting me in my pitty party. I even had a good friend pass on a wonderful Christmas idea via email, Thank you Niki ! We will be fine it is just a lot of stress. Have a great Wednesday.

Pitty Party (kind of) & Prayers

Pitty Party first, I don't know if we can catch a break. Hubby came home from work and told me he had gotten laid off. Construction is such a hard field to be in right now.
Please keep sweet hubby in prayers for a new job. After being out of steady work for almost 2 years we were seeing a little bit of a relief here with this job but they don't have any place to put him. ARRG!! So Pity Party over! I really have to get my mind and fingers in gear to make this Christmas extra special for all of us. I know it is tight for everyone and we are no exception. So if you come across ideas or blogs you would like to share either email me at calledtoscrap@yahoo.com or leave me a comment. I have a couple ideas in mind right now but can always use more. Sorry for the party just needed to get this off my chest. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Stocking Giveaway & Tuesday

I found another wonderful funny blogger today. Her name is Blonde Duck. She is giving away this adorable stocking.
I am hoping to win it for myself but thought being this is the season of being thankful and giving I would share. Okay it also gives me a little more of a chance to post it. LOL
It is Tuesday and not a good night sleep again last night. Well I slept but woke up from a stupid dream. Coco and I ran a few errands this morning to Fry's and Target. I got some great little stocking stuffers at Target for my girls. You might want to check that out if you are on a tight budget. I am going to finish up checking in on my bloggy friends and then work on some Christmas gifts.
Have a great afternoon. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

To Be A Kid & FHE

Conversation between Gabby and me a few minutes ago. She walks in the craft room.
Gabby: Hi mommy!
Me: Hi Gab.
Gabby: I just came in from outside.
Me: Oh yea, what were you doing?
Gabby: I climbed on the swing bar. I hung upside down for a while.
Me: Why did you do that?
Gabby: I just needed to think.
Me: About what?
Gabby: I don't know.
Oh to be a kid again.
Having FHE tonight, a lesson on being thankful to tie into Thanksgiving. I know it was a stretch. After the first part of the lesson I am having everyone write on a piece of paper what they are thankful for. They will get 2 minutes to do this. I will then turn this into a tree for our dining room for Thanksgiving. I have to admit the thankful idea was Coco's but I want to do the tree. I haven't been very crafty today so I need to do something fun. Have a great evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Baby Giveaway, Monday and Sadness

First of all I know the reason you are reading this is due to the giveaway. I know I put baby giveaway it's not a baby this is being given away. If you go on over to Baby Snazz you can add your information to win a free pair of the adorable Baby Leg Warmers:
These are great for babies who are crawling or learning to. I had a couple pair for my kiddos and it keeps their little legs from getting dry and chafing. Too cute and great selection of colors & designs.
Today is Monday and a start of another week. Coco, Kyle and Talmage are suffering from colds. I am avoiding getting one and I will hit the Zicam . This stuff is AWESOME! Today I am going to work on things that need taken care of today and maybe a craft or two.
If we can keep in our prayers and thoughts a dear blogasphere friend who's husband has recently passed away. Becky is a sweet mom to 7 beautiful children. If you want to stop by and give your condolences to her and her family her blog is Seven Super Summers. I just found out yesterday after church and it broke my heart. It is amazing how you can grow close to people who you don't meet in person. This is one of the wonderful things of meeting others through their blogs.
Have a good Monday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Award

First of all I would like to thank the Academy. I have always wanted to say that , Sorry! I received this award from Coco (Thank you!) at Get With It Mom.
It is a fun and informative blog. Of course she is my daughter so I can go on and on but I won't.
This is the first award I have gotten for my blog. I started this as a way to stay in touch with family and friends who I don't get to see often and it is a great way for them to see my kiddos. I love that now I can turn this in to a book if I want. And I think I want.
The way you play this game/award is you list 5 things down that you have always wanted to do.
1. Travel on a Heritage Softail Harley Davidson to Sturgis.
2. Go back to Alaska and experience winter there, go early enough to go hunting and fishing.
3. Go back to Pennsylvania and live.
4. Travel with the family to the church historical sites.
5. This is a tough one so I am adding one more. Take the family to Disneyland and some of the other fun things in California. Coco is the only one of the kiddos that has been there.
6. Last I would like to go to Ireland.
That is it. OK, now I need to pass this fun award on to three blogger friends. Stop by an visit them, say "hi" and congratulate them.
1. Leslie at My Country Home
2. Pretty Organizer at The Pretty Organizer
3. Niki at Blah, Blah, Blah, Blog
These are fun and talented ladies check out their blogs.
Off to work on Christmasing and Thanksgivinging! My 2 new words!! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Follow Up on Whatcha Workin on Wednesday

This is what I did with the foam core so far. It was suppose to be done on wood but I didn't want to have to go to Home Depot for the right wood so this is what I did. Now I think I am going to make a frame and hang them with a big bow. The letters are from Hobby Lobby , the thin wood ones. I painted them with the color then put glitter on them. Gotta love SPARKLES! I got this idea from Erin at her blog Life is a Banquet. She is so clever and what a lovely blog she has. When you see her JOY sign you will know how I messed up mine. Oh well. Gotta work with what I did. Right?
This is the silhouettes that I cut out. Not a major project but something Thanksgivingy! (he he my new word.)
This is Talmage. I was trying to bribe him into liking me best in the house by giving him a mini Hershey candy bar that was frozen.YUMMY! He loved it as you can see by the evidence on his sweet face.
That is what I did craft wise other than spaghetti, meatballs, sauce, garlic bread and spinach for dinner. Now it is time to do my night time sweep throughout the house, get kiddos to bed, take a bath & read and then watch a Frasier or two. Have a good night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Before I share with you what I am working on I have to show you this:
These are the stairs to the second story of our house there are 18 stairs in all and kind of steep . I was in the craft room reading blogs entering some contests for giveaways and such, Coco came in and was checking on coupons for this weeks sales. I went out to talk with E'lyse in the kitchen and wanted to go say hi to Talmage I go to the great room that is to the left of the staircase. He isn't there and all of the sudden it dawned on me I run over to the stairs and he is 3 stairs from the top. OH MY GOODNESS!!!! I am trying to be calm and get to him before he tries to turn around to see me and lose his balance. EEEK!!!!!!!!!!! Now I know why I didn't have a two story house till my kiddos were a little older. I think I shaved off a few years from my life.
So for Whatcha Working on Wednesday I am working on these:
Thanksgiving silhouettes. I cut out this morning I got the template off of Martha Stewart web site. I am also going to work on this:
This is going to be a Christmas sign. It is a piece of foam core board. I have wash and some cleaning, dinner and picking up kiddos, and a couple errands to work on today so I will post pictures later. I still need to recover from the sight of Talmage up there just smiling away at the top of the stairs. Good gravy that scared the tar out of me. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Veterans Day

Thank you to all of those great people who have served are serving and will be serving for our great country. My father served in the Merchant Marines, my Father in Love served in the US Air Force and at this time I have 2 nephews who are serving in the Marines and Army. I love this country and I am so proud of our military.
This morning on Channel 3 news here in the valley of never ending sun E'lyse was on TV with the dance/singing group she is in. I didn't go so I didn't get to get pictures there but watched her along with the rest of the family as they sang God Bless the USA. She and a few of her friends from the group "Sun Shine Generation" came by so I could get a couple pictures. There were more in the group but they didn't tag along. So here they are: E'lyse, Ashton, John and Alice. John looks a little scared! They did a good job. I was very proud of all of them.

Then I wanted to share with you this picture of the turkey my little girls made. They had made all the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner out of paper and craft items. But had the turkey being still alive because they thought is was funny. I think he is funny too! His name is Tom. When we lived in Pinetop we were raising turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But the Thanksgiving turkey, named Tom, met a great tragedy with a black bear breaking into his cage. Boy was I mad! Anyway I guess this is the girls way of paying homage to dear old TOM.

Fall Crafts & Cutie

Today I am feeling a little under the weather but I really wanted to work on something crafty today. My daughter found this project a couple of weeks ago at Cherry's Jubilee crafty little blog. So I decided I would make my own but with the fall leaf. You can read how it is made on her great blog.
This is my Leaf.
When I was done with this I was still wanting to make something else so I searched around Blog Land. I came upon another delightful post that had to do with decorating an entry table and I lost it! ARG! I loved what I saw and this is what I came up with, very similar to the blog post that I saw. I found it it is Blissfully Domestic . Great site!
You use newspaper for this one. Love it!
Then last but not least. This little guy makes me smile every time I look at him with his big smile and giggles. If all my kiddos were as easy going as he is I would have had 20.
He just melts my heart and is so happy just to be talked to. Have a good night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
