This Week

I won't be posting my menu plan for this week or how I will make my home sing today. I am off to Snowflake Arizona. It is only about a 3 and 1/2 hour drive to where we will stay but I still have packing to get done, and my food (good foods) and some of our eating will be on the road. Plus morning errands.
Tomorrow morning Coco, Kyle and Talmage
are going to be sealed for all time and eternity in
the Snowflake Temple. Isn't it beautiful!
I am Coco's escort so I need to be at the Temple at 8:30 in the morning. The family is very happy and excited for them.
The kiddos and I are heading up this afternoon and Alan and my mother in love will be coming up tomorrow morning. I will try and post when I get back tomorrow evening hopefully with pictures.
I am also looking forward to seeing our old neighbors and dear friends Linda and Fred while there.
Hope you all have a great day. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

My Birthday Recap

Flowers that hubby got me.
I wanted to say thank you to all of you wonderful people who sent my Birthday wishes. And those who called and sang Happy Birthday and text Happy Birthday I thank you too and I love all of you. Each of you made it an extra special day for me!
It was a great day. I did my errands early in the morning and got sang Happy Birthday by loved ones on the phone. Worked out and spent time with the family.
I had a fun Birthday. I didn't get the Harley (maybe next year), or get to go to the concert (although my son in love and I were talking about going together), or the gun, or the pink stilettos. I did get a new weight bench, some weights and this CD of Pinks. .
I am excited about having the bench and weights to be able to work out properly and have a wider variety of exercises to do. I just wanted to share a couple of pictures:
My personal cake, it is actually a giant cupcake but so pretty
My family Birthday cake Not pink but yummy carrot cake!
My sweet daughter E'lyse wrapped in the streamers that were decorating my kitchen and dining room
Then the Relief Society came over and decorated my garage door. Coco took other pictures but I am unable to get those at the time so maybe a little later.
I have to say I am feeling better than I have in a long time. I feel more confident and ready to take on the world as a more mature woman!
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Thursday Morning

I wake up this morning at 4:45 with my bodies alarm clock going off to a wonderful overcast day.Now if we can all get together and do a amazing rain dance I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you for all your sweet and some funny comments about my boo boo. I am typing better with it. I put a little bit smaller bandage on the top so I can hit the letter P better. I got busted this morning. Let me back up a minute first. Yesterday Coco, Kyle and Talmage moved back in with us. They want to have their house on the market by July 6th. Yesterday Coco came over and tried to help me. She said I get distracted too easily by sparkly things, yesterday it was music I was dancing too while packing boxes. I made it a lot funner ,believe me! So back to this morning I was starting to rinse dishes that the girls didn't do last night to load the dishwasher and Coco caught me. I had to stop.OOPS! My finger is feeling better and is now a light purple pink instead of a blood red and the dishes were driving me crazy!
After my work out yesterday (weight lifting for my legs) I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to walk this morning. But my legs are not too bad. When I go down the stairs they feel like jello it is kind of cool. It will be so worth it when I have tone, non jiggle thighs. Unfortunately they say women don't see the changes until the 12Th week of the workouts. I think of where I could be had I not hurt my knee and I'm just glad I was able to get back on the fitness wagon again. My energy is great and I am feeling more confidence it what I can do.
Hubby had a job this morning and this afternoon get's his tooth pulled that has been bothering him. This is a really good thing. He is planning on getting off the caffeinated soda. He get's the bad headaches and to be honest a little cranky when he does this. So with the tooth being pulled they will have him on loopy meds again and he can sleep through most of it! Works for me and the family!!
One more thing as of today it is 100 Days till Christmas
I better get off and get some homeblessings done this morning before people get up. Hope you all have a great day. It's gonna be a great one here! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working On Wednesday

Whatcha Working On Wednesday ! It has been a little while since I had post this for Wednesday and decided it was time. June has gone by so fast and things are changing rapidly. We have been working on moving our office into our bedroom so Coco and Talmage can move in when Kyle has to report for the Air Force.
We had a name picked out for our business and Alan went to pick up the paper work for the LLC and they said the name was too close to another business. So now back to the drawing board.
For today I got up at 4:45 and did my morning routine. At 8:45 I will leave to run my errands and be home by 10:30. Son is suppose to move boxes up to our bedroom from the den so I can clear out the den. I have a bunch of books to pack up and my desk supplies.
I will be doing wash 5 loads and vacuuming today. Hubby has to work tonight so I will be packing his lunch and getting dinner ready too.
With my finger wrapped up it is hard to do a lot of my normal chores. I can't get it wet and it is just bulky. So I will do what I can.
I have a leg weight workout and cardio today also.
I am sure there will be other things that pop up that need attention so I better get to work. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Extreme Makeover: Me Edition

BooBoo

Today I went to the doctor for my pinky finger that the skin has come completely off and won't grow back.So due to it is almost twice the size it should be, red and ozing nasty stuff. (Sorry I hope no one was snacking while reading this). I decided it was time to go. The doctor said the skin that was left was as thin as paper and badly infected. So he gave me some ointment to help it heal after soaking it in an iodine solution for 10 min. Also gave me antibiotics for the infection. I also have the infection in my ears too. Sheesh! Is there anyone else who get's infections in their ears this often?
So hopefully my skin will be somewhat better by next Tuesday when Coco, Kyle and Talmage are sealed in the Temple.
The doctor also laughed at me for doing everything that I shouldn't be doing to help it. He said I might need help for my OCD with washing my hands too.
And last but not least I can't do dishes until it has grown back. Great but it is a pain to type without my pinky.
Hope you are all having a great Tuesday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Fathers Day And Update

Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful men that are in my life especially my Alan. I love each of you and have the utmost respect for you and all you do for your families. Supporting the family, loving and caring for your spouses, your jobs and callings. Thank you Alan for your love, understanding and kindness. You have put up with so much from me and have been a man of great strength.

Now for the update. This is Kyle (son in love) who just enlisted in the Air Force. In this picture is the day he was sworn in as a DO for Maricopa County.
Today Coco, Kyle and Talmage came over for dinner with us for Fathers Day. Kyle had gotten a text from his recruiter that he will be shipped out August 4th! HOLY COW!! Wasn't expecting that. We where thinking the end of August or beginning of September. A lot has to be done in this next month. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Air Force Choice

Coco's husband and our son in love has enlisted in the Air Force on Thursday, June 18th. He got an 80% on his ASVAB which qualified him for just about any job he would want.

He decided to join in on special forces specifically with the SERE

Here is a description

A survival instructor is an instructor highly trained in Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE) tactics. Survival instructors undergo intense training in the following areas: instructional methods and skills, wilderness living, shelter construction, fire building, map and compass navigation, backpacking, food and water procurement, wilderness medicine and basic first aid, signaling and rescue techniques, escape and evasion, and prisoner of war (POW) resistance techniques. You train in all major climactic conditions; arctic, desert, tropical, ocean, and temperate. Your main duty is training aircrew members and selected Department of Defense personnel in SERE techniques. This training is conducted in remote wilderness locations in all possible weather conditions. Survival Instructors are self-motivated go-getters responsible for teaching skills that save lives. You will be in a very physically, mentally, and technically demanding career field facing new challenges daily.'

There Logo happens to be "RETURN WITH HONOR". I think that is awesome.
From what we know as of now, Kyle will leave for BMT in late August, early September, where he will go through boot camp in Texas. He will then attend Tech School in Washington State for six months, where Coco and Talmage hope to join him. After his tech school he could be stationed anywhere, but will most likely stay in Washiongton and start instructing other individuals in wilderness survival, which includes sucking out rabbit eyes and wrestling spiders.

Coco and Talmage will be moving back in with us while Kyle goes to boot camp and they will be renting out their house. So if you know of anyone that wants to live in a 6month old beautiful house with finish landscaping in Queen Creek, Arizona contact us via email.
We hate the thought of them not living near us but are so proud of Kyle and how well he has done. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Thursdays Complaint

Thursdays compliant is not a major one I just want to know what the clothing designers are thinking? I am not a huge woman I would say fairly average size. Trying to find beautiful clothing that fits right is just crazy! I have even gone to some of the higher quality clothing stores and it either shows way too much or is just aging. Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I will go back into fashion designing for REAL women. Trying to find jeans for a shorter person like me is crazy too. If they fit in the waist they are huge in the thighs and the rear. Don't they believe in women who have curves? Am I the only one out there with this problem?
That was it. I am done now.
Today was a good day with nothing major happening. Had a yummy breakfast with hubby. I went and took care of things that I needed to except for finding jeans. (We won't go there again.) then a little later hubby took me out for lunch. He just started a job that he works in the evening from 3 to around 10, this will only be a couple of weeks. So evenings will be a little strange without him here.
Tonight I had Coco, Kyle and Talmage over for dinner. After dinner they went home and I did my work out. I got my hour on the treadmill and weights done. It felt good and even better to have it done for the day. So off for a bath with a good book and then to bed. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Extreme Makeover: Me Edition

Today is Wednesday and that means it is time for Extreme Makeover: Me Edition over at Amber's fun blog {aefilikins}.
This weeks question is not really a question:
Post a picture of the contents of our fridge to see how much healthy food is in it.

Lame excuse but my batteries for my camera are charging so no pictures. But I can tell you that the contents of my refrigerators are fairly healthy. There is lots of veggies, soy milk, regular milk for everyone else, meat for sandwiches, water bottles, butter, eggs, salsa, cheese and condiments. In my second refrigerator I have more yogurt, eggs, my Diet Coke, grains and extra mixes. My freezers are full with meats, veggies and some cooking items like chocolate chips. I try to avoid having these readily available since I love frozen chocolate. There are some TV dinners for the kiddos when they are in the mood. I don't like them so I don't eat them, the taste of the preservatives is nasty. In our large freezer is where hubby keeps the ice-cream for him. I am not a big fan of ice-cream so no danger there.
This week has been good. I have been on the treadmill everyday for an hour except for Sunday. I have done my weights and trying to fit in more activities and eating clean.
This week I have lost 2 more pounds. YEAH!! Uber happy about this! I wish I could see more of a change but I know I didn't get this way over night it was YEARS of ignoring and abusing myself that got me where I am at now.
Feeling good probably not getting enough sleep but I am working on that.
This week I will :
Continue on the treadmill daily
Add in some Taebow Bootcamp a couple times or more (I really enjoy the kickboxing!)
Weight for the legs and more ab work.
Continue eating clean and find inspiration where I can.
Hope you all are having a great week! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Tuesday

Isn't it funny how some days there seems so much to post about on your blog and then other days it is just digging for something to say. I am very rarely at lost for words so I am posting about today's happenings. Today has been a good day. I got my housework done early so the day was somewhat free. I love when I can keep on top of it to have time to do other things.
I am guessing that E'lyse has been bored because she has been helping me out with the housework . It is very nice to have that extra help. Thank you E'lyse!
Hubby and I picked a name for our business finally so he went to get the paperwork taken care of for it to be official. Unfortunately he had to go to Phoenix to take care of all the paperwork and it is now almost 6:30 and he is still there.
I got my hour on the treadmill done and weights. Feeling good about that! I even got to squeeze in a 10 minute power nap today. Woo Hoo!
The girls are enjoying their swim classes and are learning new strokes to help them swim faster and be able to swim longer. Now for that pool that I am dreaming about.
Be sure to check in tomorrow for the Extreme Makeover:Me Edition.
I must be off now to get dinner finished up. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Monday Reflect

Yesterday was a good day. It started out a little slow but picked up along the way. I did my morning errands and came home for the rest of the day. I finally got caught up on my coupons, getting them cut out and put in their proper places, cleaned up the house an then about 11:30 ish Coco & Kyle brought over Talmage for me to watch while they went out for lunch and some shopping. He just cracks me up his newest thing is to go in circles. He has a big smile on his face the whole time he is making himself dizzy. They came and picked him up about 4:30 or so. By this time Talmage was ready for a nap so they took off for a while. I did my workout and then got dinner started. After swim lessons Coco, Kyle and Talmage came back over to have dinner with us. Alan had bought some sweet Italian bratwurst at Costco and we had those and I made sloppy joes for those who don't like brawts.
Dinner was yummy and desert was good too. We had apple & cherry pie with ice-cream on top. We then played a fun game of Apples to Apples. If you haven't played this game, you should. It is a lot of fun! After Dallas beat us all we cleaned up and everyone was suppose to be settleing down for the night.
After Coco,Kyle and Talmage went home the 3 girls got really hyper and were laughing and chasing each other then Dallas decided to come out and join in on the noise making. At this point I was just ready for the house to be quiet but it was enjoyable to hear the laughter of the kiddos enjoying each other so I let them.
Got to bed way to late but that's okay life is good. Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday! This is what some day I will wear to go on my road trip.

First we have Pink Snake print glasses.

Then put on the little Pink shorty shorts.

Then we grab the Pink Leather Vest.

Then the Pink chaps.

Then slip on this pretty Pink Spike . Not quite the right shade of Pink for the other leather but gotta love this boot! When I was a little girl my brother Bernie, would buy me a pair of GoGo boots if I would let my hair grow. Then my mom would cut it and I would start all over. Boots just have a special memory for me. And since I can remember seeing them I had wanted a pair of the thigh high boots so I had to add these too.

Then put on the Pink Leather Jacket
Last put on the Pink helmet

And off I go on my Pink FLSTN Softial Delux Harley Davidson painted for a Queen !

Photobucket
I love this bike. It just needs some saddle bags and it's set for a road trip. What could be better than Pink leather and a Pink Harley?
Have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Friday

Don't you just love Fridays? I do. Even though it isn't much different than any other day with being a homemaker. I just like them.
Today has been good I was reunited with one of my best friends after 7 years of not talking with her due to my moving and just not staying in touch . I am excited that we are going to get together and hang out. It is hard for me to find people that I can mesh with easily. You know the "girlfriend" type you can share things and not be judged or really watch the things you say. So I am pumped.
I haven't worked out today, but I will this afternoon. Treadmill and weights are in for today's workout.
Tonight will be a hangout night with the family.
Hope you are all having a grate Friday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Cute Pictures

Pictures of the little man
Talmage started taking swimming classes this week. Here he looks like a drunk!
Eating goggles is better than wearing them.
Coco seriously better have a little girl soon. She put little pig tails in Talmages hair. He reminds me of BOO from Monsters Inc.
This is Kyle and Talmage before swim classes
Gabby and Talmage snuggling on the couch.

Thursday

I can't believe that it is Thursday already. This week has gone by so quickly for me.
I have decided that after my post last night on the topic of pictures, that we gals are WAY too critical of ourselves. All the ladies that left me comments that have posted pictures I think are beautiful. So I think we all better stop listening to what the media says we should look like and listen to what we are told by our significant other or friends. We just need to get it into our heads that we are beautiful no matter what size or shape we are.
Today I am doing my regular housework, working on business things with hubby and working out.
Hope you all have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Picture

Not fishing for compliments first of all just wanting to get ever ones take on this topic.
When I was younger and modeling I had always heard that the camera puts on 10 pounds. Okay so my daughter is taking pictures of me for on my blog and HOLY CRAP it looks like there is 20 pounds added. I look at it and think do I really have those wrinkles, my eyes aren't that small and my hair doesn't look like that in the mirror. What is up with that! I don't feel like I look like I do. I think someone changed my picture while I wasn't looking.
I don't think pictures do me justice anymore. I use to love to have my picture taken, but now it is as far away from the front of the lens as possible for me.
Does everyone feel this way?
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Vivienne at The V Spot tagged me and asked me to please list 6 important things that make me happy. There are many more than 6 but these are the ones that are coming to me at this time.

1. Happy, laughing children (especially my own)
2. Music that makes me dance and sing
3. Kissing and hugs
4. My perfume Opium. I wear it ALL the time. It is my trademark smell.
5. Feeling like I am living as me not what the world expects.
6. Time alone to think without interruptions.

Make sure you go visit her blog The V Spot on this posting Boobies. It is too funny! She is always a lot of fun to read. I especially loved this one.

Extreme Makeover :Me Edition

It is Wednesday so that means it is time for Extreme Makeover: Me Edition. Before I share the question and answer for this week I wanted to give a big shout out to Amber and Tahner Filkins on their 3rd Anniversary as husband and wife. May you be blessed with all the happiness and good health that God has in store for you.

Now on to the question for this week:
What's your favorite thing to drink while you're losing weight? We all know how important it is to get that water intake up, especially with summer almost here. What's your favorite way to spice it up?

My favorite drink is the old H2O. Up until the beginning of this year when I decided to start living healthier and taking care of myself I never thought much about what I drank while trying to lose weight. Now that I am getting older and a little wiser I know that it all counts of what goes into our bodies. I have been cutting way back on my Diet Coke and concentrating more on drinking water. Occasionally I will have lemon water but I just prefer it clean and clear.
In Arizona it is so important to drink water all the time with the humidity not being moist. Your skin will dry out very fast.

This past week I have fallen in love with my treadmill. I think a lot of it has to do with my iPod and being able to just get on and listen to great tunes. I speed up with the beat of the songs and time just fly's by.
I have also been taking bike rides. Still love my Pink bike. It makes me smile every time I look at it. The girls love going on bike rides too.
Me eating has been really good. When I have a goody I am not eating so much but not depriving myself either.
I am down 2 lbs. for the week. Yeah!
Hope you all have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Chicken Packets

Recipe for Chicken Pockets
Ingredients for mix:
2 cups cooked, chopped chicken
1 3 ounce pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 Tbs. chopped chives
2 Tbs. milk
Salt to taste

1/2 cup crushed, seasoned crouton crumbs or sesame seeds
2 pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls.
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine

Mix chicken, cream cheese, chives, milk, and salt in a medium bowl. Mixing with hands or a fork.
Open and unroll crescent rolls. Each tube will contain 4 or 8 rectangles of dough with a diagonal perforation. Press dough along each perforation. Place a spoonful in the center of the rectangle and fold over, almost so it looks like a diaper. Pinch edges together. Then put melted butter in a bowl or use a pastry brush and brush it on the filled cresents. Sprinkle on crushed croutons or the sesame seeds.
Place on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 350* oven for 20 minutes or until they are golden brown. Packets are good either hot or cold.
These are great meal that is requested on most Birthdays. Easy, inexpensive and yummy!
Have a great evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Tuesday

Today in Arizona it is overcast and beautiful. I just love overcast days and especially rainy days but I won't hold my breath on that one. They seem to energize me.
The girls started swim classes last night and seemed to enjoy it. We rode our bikes over to where they are being taught. Tonight while they are in class I am going on a bike ride then picking them up.
We are going shopping today for a swimsuit for Gabby as she has grown out of her one from last year. I hope it is easier to find a desent swimsuit for an 8 yr. old than a 13 yr. old.
I woke up this morning at 4:30 and felt really good. I think the extra effort I am putting in to being active is paying off.
Hope you all have a great day. I will be around later to check out your blogs.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Making My Home Sing andMenu Plan Monday

It's Monday again so that means it is time for Make Your Home Sing Monday at Moms The Word Blog.
I was having a hard time thinking of what I wanted to do for this week. I have decided that I am going to work on showing gratitude for all the things in my life especially the little things. Showing my children that they are such a blessing in my life. Making sure to notice the little things that get done and sometimes just gets overlooked.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was good. Saturday I had early morning errands to take care of. We had a brunch that a neighbor was giving for my next door neighbor who is moving today. It is sad they have not only been great neighbors but she also has become a good friend to me. The brunch was a lot of fun with yummy food. The people that had the brunch are an elderly couple who moved out to Arizona about 6 years ago from New York. What a hoot they were.
I then took E'lyse and Faith shopping for a bathing suit. No luck in that department for a modest bathing suit.
Alan had taken Gabby to a movie, lunch and to The Bass Pro shop. Gabby got a badge for a pretend fishing then she got to do archery. She had 10 arrows and hit the dear with 5. From what Alan said she beet out all the boys there who weren't hitting the dear at all. She got another badge for that. They then had smores . I guess this is something that the Bass Pro shops are doing for the summer. They have classes and thing for the families to do on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. She had a blast!
The girls and I got home. I did my hour on the treadmill. Then Coco, Kyle and Talmage came over and we had dinner and visited.
Sunday was a good day. We got up early as usual. Alan had breakfast together and then worked on some paper work that needed done with a lot of talking. I did my treadmill time (feeling good). Then got ready for church.
We went to church and had a spiritually uplifting time. L=The lesson on praying in Relief Society (this is a meeting that is for women over 18) was a really good lesson.
Got home and had Mexican Stroganoff that I stuck in the crock pot early in the morning. It was really good. This was one of the freezer meals I had made with Coco a while back.
In the evening Coco, Kyle and Talmage came over to visit bringing brownies. E'lyse had just made a pan of brownies too. So we had brownies, pie and ice-cream. Alan was a doll and bought a strawberry/ rhubarb pie (one of my favorite) So much for the treadmill work before church. he he
We had a good time visiting and laughing. After the clean up Coco, Kyle and Talmage went home taking E'lyse and Dallas to spend the night so they could hang out some more.
The rest of the night was very restful. So all in all it was a good weekend. Now I am all refreshed and ready for another great week.

Posting Early for Pink Saturday

It's that time once again for Pink Saturday!
This is one of my favorite days of the week just because of this event. For this week I want to share these
I don't golf but if I did I would definitely use these. Hubby found them and brought them home to me. He knows how I love Pink
Then there is this
My iPod Shuffle. This keeps me on the treadmill longer than ever before. It matches my phone and camera. Who wouldn't looks stunning wearing this Pink iPod while sweating their butts off? It has my newest favorite songs from various artist like Lady Ga Ga, Pussycat Dolls, Pitbull, Blondie, AC/DC, Kiss and many more. I love it!
And last I know many of you have been waiting for these
I saw them at Payless and they were screaming at me while I was carrying my Pink purse, "I need a good home and I would look great on you!"
And they were right.
Are you suprised Scrappy Girl? he he
So those are my Pinks for this week.
Tonight when hubby came home he brought me these

Not Pink but beautiful just the same.
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
