Ramsey Sale

I had posted before about my sweet Hubby and I working on getting our budgeting under control again. Being out of a steady job for almost 2 years it was difficult to do. When we got out of debt before other than a mortgage we used Dave Ramsey of Financial Peace University. We went through the university, thank you to my husbands old employer. We fell off the wagon like many people trying to make all payments and got stupid with credit and moving 5 times in the past 6 years has made it hard too. So we are working on this. You may be asking why I am mentioning this over at Dave's web site they are having a BIG Labor Day sale. Dave is an awesome teacher and so entertaining.
So go check it out! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pink Saturday & Shooting

So for this Labor Day weekend Pink Saturday with Beverly. Sorry I am posting so late. The week of getting up early and then I stayed up way too late last night.

So for my Pink Saturday I wanted to share these:

I bought these because 1.) They are Pink & cute with tea cups, that I just love. 2.) They are made by Mary Engelbreit, who is my favorite artist.

I also wanted to share a picture of Faith (9) who loves to shoot and looking forward to going hunting on Monday for her first time. Alan tries to spend time with each of the children doing something they like to do. Early this morning he took Gabby , the youngest, up to Canyon Lake to go fishing. Sorry I was still in bed when they left and he's not much of a picture taker. So here is Faith:

Just about 4 months ago the barrel was too long for her. Now it is perfect for her to shoot with.
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and a safe weekend. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday & The Doctor

Since Leslie is at a Grange Fair, hopefully having a good time with her sweet family. I decided to post anyway. I didn't think I would be working on anything today due to feeling a little ditsy. I know what your saying "What's new there?". I went to the doctor yesterday and he put me on 2 different pills for my heart and they are making me feel really odd. Kind of loopy and tired. So back to my original post. Woke up this morning to a lovely rain and when it finally got light enough to see I toke this picture out our front door.
I love the rain! :)
I started working on a filing cabinet yesterday morning. Since DH moved out of the den and handed it over to me to be my Craft Room we had to move the filing cabinet upstairs next to where we will do the budget. I want to get the files in order, clear out old unneeded items and such. I ran out out of the hanging files. So I stopped doing that and worked on my 3 youngest children's room, all three girls ages 12, 9 and 7 EEK!! . They are sharing a room now since Coco and her family moved in with us. The room was HORRID! I spent a couple hours in there getting rid of things, packing up old treasures and such. In return the room is clean and organized. This morning Coco and I went to Wal-Mart to get a few lunch items and some hanging folders. It turned out that they are clearing out all of their material in their crafting area. WOW! Deal, 50%. Even though I am bummed that they will no longer sell material I was happy to get several wonderful pieces to make some Christmas items and napkins for election day.
I hope to feel better tomorrow to be able to cut strait and sew strait. I am struggle with my typing and it is kind of funny. Coco and Kyle went to the big sale that JC Penny is having right now and I watched Talmage for them. I got dinner ready but was out of baking mix so I made my own, this is why you should not make things like this while on strange medications. I made a mess. We are having the Bean Goulash, rolls, broccoli and no cupcakes but crock-pot pumpkin pudding. It all smells yummy!
Now back to the doctor. Those of you who have known me for a while know that I am not a big fan of doctors. (Long story) I know they can be wonderful and save lives, I just don't like having to be on the receiving end of their care. Besides we all know the nurses do all the work anyway! My doctor is having me go for the full physical, blood work, check all of me out. Told me to lose some weight and start with easy exercise so I don't kill myself. So I am starting with portion control, yoga and easy walking video. I know it is something I must do but I love to cook and unfortunately enjoy eating too. So that is my not so productive Wednesday. Have a great evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pink Saturday & Window Treatments

Today is another Pink Saturday at Beverly's Blog. I think pink is a fun color. So I couldn't make up my mind of what picture to post so why not all of them.

This is one of my cute little Bubble Bath Gel thingies on one of my newest favorite scrapbook papers.

This is a fun scrap booking tool for holes for eyelets and brads, or you can use it for the thin wood to punch holes in it. It was well worth the money.

This picture is my new little sign for my van, my pink B that I have had for several years and a positive notes jar that I made in May, I believe. All posing on my newest favorite scrapbook paper.

Today is a big budget day planning and goal setting for DH and I. I am excited about this. We have fallen off the budgeting band wagon so now we need to refocus and get too it. We are also going to hang the curtain rods and curtains in our great room. I got some great energy efficient curtains that are to block out 99% of the light. You might think that this will make the room dark but we have high windows that are above these that have my decorations on them so there will still be light but not the sun blaring through the lower big windows. And we live in Arizona so there you go SUN shine almost year round.
These are the windows minus the boxes now, I have been trying to rearrange to make things more efficient. This is the first one it was taken at about 10 am. See how the sun comes through the top windows?
Then this is the other 2 that are across the room from the first one.
Oh I also have moved my sectional around to make the room look not as big and too roomy.
Coco, Kyle and Talmage are leaving to go up camping with his family in Round Valley in the White Mountains over night. I will miss them but hope that they have fun and enjoy the beauty and the weather for me.
So that is it for now. I will check in a little later. May you all have a fun Pink Saturday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I won Something!!!

I was so excited I have been trying for months to win things from different blog and such sites and nothing! So today Coco and I went to Wal-Mart, she needed to pick up a few items. She said that we were going to get Subway for lunch since it was Kyle's Birthday. He works nights as a Detention Officer so we couldn't do a big dinner tonight. So I walked over after ordering my sandwich to get my soda and decided to pull the little game sticker and guess what I won? A COOKIE!! It doesn't matter that I just made 60 of them yesterday this is one I WON!! Oh yeah, I am so cool! I was really excited. I did a little happy dance and the lady said I was on a winning streak and should hit Las Vegas. I told her I would pass I was happy with my cookie!! Hope you are having a winning day too! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Thursday

Today I went to get a few items that we ran out of this morning, get gas in my van, talk to Dallas' high school counselor & change some information on a savings card. While I was at Wally World I found some great prices on Roasts. I decided to revise my menu again tonight and do the roast (made with caffeine free diet coke as the marinade) , mash potatoes & green beans tonight minus the cake. In it's place these: Chocolate Chip cookies. This was the first tray out of the oven. I made enough to fill my new cookie jar. I made 5 doz. to fill it up. These will be our dessert with a cup of cool milk. I also made up a little plate to take to my friend who is trying to lose weight for a cruse she and her hubby are going on. I made a little note on top that said this,"Friends don’t let friends DIET!!!" She thought it was funny.
I also made these to go with dinner. My family loves dinner rolls.
Today I was busy doing a little bit of this, 6 loads of laundry due to son not bringing his down on his wash day. I did some organizing thoughts , blog reading, cleaning and fun things like that. Better go for now. Hope you all have a great Thursday night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Follow Up

I forgot to post this last night. I made a bread pudding using mini-Reese's. It was yummy!
You know what they say about the best laid plans. I didn't get as much accomplished as I wanted today. I did get my chores done and then some, I also got wash got done. The material is being a pain! There is too much and I am not sure where I should put it so I did the best I could and that will have to do for now. I am hoping to use some of it for the gifts I have listed to make today. I can't share those due to some of those people check into my blog once in a while. I got the desks straightened up and things put back in their places. Crafting is not a neat job. I don't know if you other crafters always have your things in perfect order or some kind of order at the end of the project? If you do how do you do it? I try and at the end it is scary. I have picked out some of the wooden ornaments to cut out and have to draw them on the wood still. The applesauce is in the works. I didn't want to go to the store to get the mango's so I will get them tomorrow and then add them. I went off of my planned menu and used a recipe out of my new book that I got the other day. The recipe was Mandarin Bourbon Turkey Tenders. Well we don't use alcohol so I used vanilla as the substitute for the Bourbon and I had chicken thawed out so this is what I used.
I have gone through my Fall Decorations and as you can see by the new face lift on my blog I am ready for it to come now. The heat needs to go away. I have decided where most will go and I have a few little items I want to make to add to them this year. I didn't work on the mache' pumpkins yet. The night is not over though. I am going to get dinner on, do dishes and see how things go from there.
I am back from all the above. Dinner needed more spices but was good. Gabby helped me to get lunches all packed so that is nice to have done.
I am not going work on the pumpkins I want to get a bath, a spot of tea and maybe some reading.
So off I go. Hope you all had a great day. Talk with you tomorrow. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on WEdnesday

Today is Wednesday and that mean Whatcha Working on Wednesday is here too. Leslie has this sign up every Wednesday so go on over and let us know what you are working on.
Today I need to get lunches made for the kiddos. I have the usual daily chores to be done. After that 3 loads of wash, straightening up desks in craft room, sorting and organizing my material and ribbon, deciding what I am going to do with some of it, work on list for Christmas gifts to make, paint some mache' pumpkins, start drawing Christmas ornaments on wood to cut out, make mango/apple applesauce, make dinner, make cookies for my new cookie jar that is just begging for some yummy treats, work on Fall decorations for my kitchen and then if there is time more crafting maybe even a scrap page. I will fill you in later. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Cheryl, at CCanadian Country Gal is having a give away of this sign. I hope I win but I will be happy for who ever the recipient is. Good luck! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

And this is one of the four bags. I hope they like them. The apple dip is good and not too sweet.
Today as I was out taking care of errands with Coco and Talmage, Alan called me. Well I get distracted easily, so Alan and I are talking and all of the sudden I see in the back of this truck a beautiful framed mirror. It was huge and the detail on the frame was unbelievable. So I blurted out that the mirror was beautiful, and as corny as it sounds Alan says to me,"Any mirror you look in is beautiful! " AW! It made me feel good anyway.
Then last but not least I got a post then a special phone call from my loving SIL Renee' who gave me some of the sweetest complements and made me cry. I love you Renee' and thank you for making my day.
So Tuesday is almost over for me. Tomorrow is Wednesday so you know what that means. Get your list ready to share what your working on with Leslie.
So off to have a cup of herbal tea, a warm bath and share a few minutes with my Heavenly Father to thank him for all the wonderful people and blessings in my life. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Gabby, New Book and He's Home

It almost looks like a MUG shot! he he Coco had cut Gabby's hair a few weeks back and I just love it. I did Gabby's hair before church on Sunday and forgot to get a picture before so I took this after church. It got a little wacky up on top. If any of you watch Jon & Kate Plus 8, on TLC, Gabby's hair looks like Kate's or it looks like Heidi Swaps. Either way I wish my hair would do this but it is way too curly and stubborn.

I did my grocery sales shopping today and found this book on sale. Since I love my crock pot and I want to start using it a little more I thought this would be a great book. I have enjoyed the recipes from Sandra's other cookbooks so I figure I probably can't lose on this one.

Last night about 10:30 ish Alan got home from Georgia. His brother flew him out there for the weekend to spend a little time with his family. He said he missed the family but wished he could have spent a few more days visiting and seeing the state. He had a good time! Thank you Tom & Denise for taking good care of my sweet heart!
So that is all for now. I am planning on doing some crafting a little later after I pick up the girls from school. Still haven't finished the school bags for the teachers due to working on other fun things. I think that will have to be at the top of my list for delivery on Wednesday.
Oh and one more thing one of my dear friends Lisa L. Just joined the blogging world. HI LISA!!! I miss you.
Have a great Monday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pink Saturday

It is Pink Saturday ! You can join in on the pretty color of Pink every Saturday on Beverly's blog. My little pink for the day are these: I wish I could say that the pink car is mine, but I can't. My son saw it and thought I would like it.

>These two items I use daily and love them. The phone is actually the same color as the camera, but for some reason, maybe the lighting in the room, they don't look the same. The phone is the way to stay in touch with those I love when they are away and the camera is a way of preserving the memories of those I love in the future. So now it is your turn to look around and find something pink that you think is pretty at post it for Pink Saturday. Have a fun Saturday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Napkins & I Am Being Eaten! Pleasure In Cup

These are the two different napkins that I made for two of my girls Faith & Gabby today that I didn't get to work on WWW. I made two of each of them . The pink one is made of two different materials and the blue one is made of the same on both sides. They are 9 x9 so they don't take up a bunch of room in their lunch boxes. I had started another 2 and my sewing machine was being a pain so I will wait till another day to do those. I did some mending on clothes before I worked on these. As far as the cloth napkins I just hate spending money on something that is thrown away day after day. So I use cloth napkins most of the time. Plus I feel like the table looks so much more pleasant even if you are having hamburgers. I have 8 different sets and 3 for different holiday ones, so far. I also am addicted to beautiful china, dishes and old serving platters.
Today I also started working on Teachers Bags for the little girls 4 teachers at school . I am hoping to finish these in the morning after I get Alan off to work. I will take a picture when I am done with them to show you of course.
In the afternoon I was holding Talmage and it was a good thing that I didn't have make-up on. He was snuggling with me and then all of the sudden he latched on to my chin. It is so funny! He will then back away and then attack again. I don't normally let my picture to be taken especially with the way I have looked lately but I had to show you that Grandma's do taste good. He likes to chew on my shirt shoulders too. So if you see me running around town with wet shoulders you will know why.
I sure have fun with this little guy. (Don't worry my skin was clean!) he he

Last but not least, My name is Bobbi Jo Nichols and I am a Choco-holic.. Hi Bobbi! I have some cocoa or hot/cold chocolate every day. Ever since I was a little girl so I wanted to share my yummy pleasure and addiction with you.

This is pure pleasure in a cup!
Well, I am off to bed. Hope you all have a good night sleep and hurray it is Friday! Sweet dreams, Bobbi Jo

My Update on Watcha Working on Wednesday

This is an update on my craft room. I haven't gotten any crafts done yet. I started cleaning up some other things and trying to make things more efficient. I plan on doing some crafting later this evening while listening to Jon & Kate Plus 8. DH called and wants to do a date night tonight. He is going out of town to visit his brother in Georgia this weekend so I guess tonight is as good as any.

This is the desk that I showed earlier. Looks much better.
This is the bookcase next to the desk. These hold my craft items.
This is the Great Wall of Buckets! And Coco's work area while she is living here. I plan on having a wall built, painting it to match the room and decorating it to match the rest of the room w/ shelves.
This is where you can find me typing out my blog and reading others blogs. I love to read and have so many books that are still in boxes.
This has nothing to do with what I have been doing. This is Dallas (our only son for those who don't know me very well), in the blue shirt and my grandson Talmage on the right. They are both so cute! It is hard to believe that Dallas is only 15. I am working on him shaving his beard off but I haven't convinced him yet. I know soon it has to come off for his Fire Fighting program he is in so I will just tug on it once in a while until then.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

It is that time again for Leslies Whatcha Working on Wednesday! Since the start of this week wasn't the best I have a lot on my list today. I am starting out with cleaning up my craft room. It is really bad!
Oh my scary!! Coco and I have been working on the mess on the table in the middle of the room.
This weekend the guys moved the rest of the food storage in the room and now I have to get them strapped to the wall (long story). This sounds very unattractive and you are right it is. I will eventually have a wall that will cover them up and painted and of course decorated. Anyway, after this I need to make some napkins for the girls lunches. They are taking spare napkins from my dinner ones and they are the big ones. I also plan on doing at least 2 scrap-book pages, painting some wood items I have cut out for fall. I have some wash and house work to do in between so I should keep busy from this. I will post pictures a little later. Have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pretty Things

Tonight as I was out in the blogasphire I found a lovely blog it is written by KJ the blog is called eye-dyllic. Beautiful pictures and information. There is a bit about tea and tea time. I am the only one in our family that drinks tea. KJ asked that we send her a picture of our Perpetual Tea Trays. I have a few trays and many china pieces that I love to use. In the evenings this Herbal Tea- Chamomile w/ a touch of Lemon is very soothing. The picture is the tray I painted a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to show you the pretty saucer. I love flowers so this is one of my favorite ones.
The next pretty was given to me by Coco. She made it for me. I was so pleased to have this after seeing all the beauties she has made for our upcoming etsy shop. It is one of my favorite color combinations of Hot Pink and Black. It will be my Ladies Journal. I think it is so pretty! The Flowers were brought home for me last night from Alan after I told him I had to get a shot in my hiney so I needed flowers and chocolate. So I got the flowers and some wonderful 60% cocoa chocolate. I was just kidding but he got them for me anyway. He is a sweetheart.
My finger is doing better tonight after the herbal medicine Coco put on it today. It has already healed up the cut in part. Wow! Good stuff.
So off to bed I need to go. 4:15 comes awful quick and I hope to be productive tomorrow. Sweet dreams, Bobbi Jo

It Had To Be Cut Off! Get Out Your Violins

First of all I will apologize for my boo-hooing here. I just needed to get this off my chest. I know I will feel better once this is done. So please, bare with me.
Yesterday afternoon my hands had swollen even more than when the doctor saw it, not just my hands but everywhere was swollen. The doctor told me to try and get my wedding ring off soon as possible. Little did I know what was to happen. The doctor also said my blood pressure was high but didn't say much more about it so I check what it was and it was 160 over 125, I think this is my next concern.
The doctor gave a prescription for some ointment to stop itching and to help heal where my finger was badly infected also some antibiotics for my ears .
Alan got home and took a look at it and said that I could loose my finger if I didn't get it off. So I go into panic mode. I took some of my blood pressure pills (herbal) and start drinking water, laying with feet up, soaking finger in ice water and all that good stuff. Trying to get the ring off. Nothing! Still in a haze of the Child's Benadryl doze I made dinner and the girls did the dishes. I watched Jon & Kate Plus 8 then went to bed. I wake up this morning and finger is worse. It is now throbbing and I didn't sleep very well last night.

I decided to get the ring off myself again. Due to my vanity I didn't want to go to the jewelers and have them see my bad skin. I soaked my finger and got my floral wire snips and tried to cut. I made some what of a dent after about 20 min. off and on soaking and trying to cut. I couldn't do it. So I take my little bucket of water & ice and my snips and ask Kyle if he can help me. I show him the ridge and he pressed as hard as he could and it finally cut through. Now the problem was I couldn't get the ring off. The ring had cut into my finger about 2 centimeters and it hurt like crazy. So Kyle and Coco got pliers and tweezers and pulled it apart. It didn't want to come off and kept rubbing in the part of the finger that had the wound. So I finally grabbed the front of the ring and held on, Kyle got the snips and cut off a section and then pulled with the pliers and got it off. Sniff Sniff my beautiful wedding ring. I feel so bad that it had to come to this! There was nothing to do it had to be cut off. So here is the pictures of my not so glamorous hand even though Coco added the leopard stripe, after Kyle & Coco played Doctor and Nurse taking care of me. My hero's!And the other picture is my poor wedding rings. On the bright side my finger is no longer throbbing and I think the swelling might be coming down on it.
Does this get me out of doing the dishes for a day or two? I don't think so!
I am Still trying to get the rest of the swelling out of my body and figure out what started this thing in the first place. Any nurses have ideas let me know because I am lost. Have a fun Tuesday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Surprise, Sunday, Monday and the lazy Dog Days

I am in working on the computer and my husbands cousins son who is also one of my sons best friends came over to pick him up and him mom had sent this over for our family. It looks so yummy! It is Texas Sheet Cake w/ chocolate icing. What a yummy surprise! Thank you Tammy!! Big Hugs to you for making my day.
On Sunday we woke up and had our usual Sunday breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. I went up stairs to get dressed and next thing I know I have red splotches all over my face. Then my arms starting itching. I felt like I was running a fever just in my face though. It was really weird. So I decided to take a Benadryl (child dose or else I would be out for 2 days). It wasn't working very fast. Alan and I were working on something in the den (aka my craft room) and I was getting worse and very groggy. So we finished up and I went to bed. Slept for a few hours and got up not doing much better. Everyone went to church but me and my red spots. I went back to sleep. The family got home, ate dinner and we watched the Olympics for a while then off to bed again.
This morning I wake up at the usual 4:15 and spots are worse. So I decided to go to the care clinic. They said I have ear infections in both ears but don't know why I have red spots. I also got a shot in my hiney to relieve the itch. It worked for a while and made me very sleepy. So today was not productive at all.
Since Coco, Kyle and Talmage moved in with us we have 4 dogs in the house most of the time due to even at 5 pm it is 107 degrees outside. So I was walking through the house and found it funny that they were all being very lazy.
The first dog is Lula (Coco's dog) the next two are Cosmo(Coco's dog) and Belle (E'lyses dog) and the last one glaring at the camera is Nellie ( my dog). She isn't found of having her picture taken, she gets that from me. So these are the last of some of the lazy dog days of summer! he he
Have a great Monday night. Hoping to have a more productive day tomorrow minus the itching and spots. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I love PiNk! It is PiNk Saturday

Today is Pink Saturday that Beverly has made famous in her own beautiful way. Be sure to check out her great blog Howsweetthesound , she has a list of wonderful ladies joining in on the fun, and you are welcome to join in every Saturday if you would like, just let her know. She has put alot of work and organization into this and it has become very popular!
If you ask any member of my family they know and connect me with Pink! Not just pink but crowns, Harley's, chocolate and bling. I think in a lot of ways I am very girly because I love anything feminine. I enjoy being treated like a lady. You are probably asking why I am telling you this? Well it is due to BJ ,at her blog Sweet Nothings is giving away a very cute pink fleece throw with big white polka dots! Who can resist that? Love it! I have entered to win it and she said to claim your love for pink so here I am. So I wanted to share a cute little thing that I made on Thursday. It is one of my favorite hues, HOT PINK. So here it is
I have been working on items for the upcoming etsy shop Coco. I was working on projects and felt like making something on a whim and this is what I came up with.
Tomorrow is Sunday and we will be going to church and having FHE after that. Hope you are all having a fun Saturday night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Watcha Working on Wednesday

It's time again for Whatcha Working on Wednesday with Leslie at My Country Home has a place you can sign on to show everyone what you are doing. It is great way to get motivated to get things done. Today I am working on these: This the before and then I added one more item to this. This is the after:This is the Thinkin Spot. Then there is this,

This is called Beach Bungalo. Then this one :It is called Dream House. My dream house would be yellow, country style with white trim, grey roof and a wrap around porch. So after I got these done I still wanted to paint some more. So I did this: This is a tray I had for a while. I painted it pink and did a cream crackle on it. I stamped the middle design with a stamp from Heidi Swap and hand painted the rest.

This is a machae box I painted yesterday. I did a brown paint with a cream crackle and painted the leaves. The inside is painted a autumn brown.

This next picture is something that I thought was too cute. I bought this harvest basket on sale for $10! DeAl!! Love this picture of Talmage.

So this is what I did along with my household blessings and a couple errands so I had fun today. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
