Hives, Today and Picture

I appreciate the well wishes for Gabby and her friendly little hives. These crazy things are getting better but not going away completely. There were a couple things out of the norm that she did or drank before the hives came around. She was at a friends house and wore a pair of her pj's and blankets. I was also informed that she drank tons of pink lemonade. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them. Alan ground oatmeal for an oatmeal bath and that seems to help along with the Benadryl (sp?).
E'lyse had an uneventful day at school. Yeah!
I didn't get my list done. Hubby and I did a bunch of talking and more talking so it was a fun day.
Since the beginning of the school year I have wanted to get a picture of Dallas in his turnouts for the EVIT training for Fire Science (fire fighting) he would never let me take some. So today I am looking around my file on my computer and I found some pictures to share.
I really like this one.
After fighting fire.
Dallas and buds. He is the one with the beard at 16!!
Flames must have been bright. he he
This last one I just like. He is wearing my dew rag
Have a great evening! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Bomb Scare and What I Accomplished

I got all but 5 of the items on my list done. I was happy with what I did get accomplished considered my time to get it done was cut short.
Yesterday I was plugging away at getting things done on my list. And I receive a phone call from one of E'lyse's friends mom telling me I need to turn on the news. There was an explosion at their school. So I listen to the news and call the school. They read the press release to me and I found out that E'lyse and her friend weren't injured. The school is on lock down. When the schools go on lock down no one is allowed on campus or leave campus, exception the police. Then I got a call from the nurse at Faith and Gabby's school that Gabby has broke out in hives. So I went to pick up her and went home to give her medicine. While I was at her school the principle called me into his office. His son and E'lyse are good friends. He told me they had moved the children to the School District office and I could go pick her up there.
I went to the office and it was a nut house. I got there and the parking lot was packed and there were cops everywhere. They were busing the children from there school and keeping them in the gym at this office. I waited from 1:12 when I arrived till 2:45 to get her. They were not prepared for this type of evacuation. Hopefully there will not be a need for this again, but this was a good way to see they weren't ready.
It turns out a child filled a 2 liter bottle with drain cleaner and mixed something else with it. It was kicked across the what I belive was the lunch area and it exploded. There were 8 children injured due to this. It is sad that this has to happen, but we can only learn and teach our chilren what not to do and they have their free agency. I feel sorry for the children injured and the family and boy that did this. This is somehting that probably won't be soon forgotten in this area.
Today Alan is home from work and we are going to work on somethings that need to be done and he has a job this afternoon that he and Dallas will be going to. I have Gabby home today still covered in hives and sleeping. I am going to grind up some oatmeal for a bath and I think this will help her feel better.
I am also planning on getting the cookies made that I didn't get to yesterday and work on my craft room. There are things that need filed so that is the biggest job in there.
Off to do homeblessing and spend time with hubby and Gabby. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Wonderful Quote

While reading blogs today I was reading Modern Molly Mormon and there was a quote put on by Military Molly that I just love and I think this is one ALL women should read.

I must admit I fail often of this just letting myself look like a windstorm blew me in. This makes me want to try harder to be more like an angle. Heavenly Father knows each of us and loves us. We are made in his image and we are all beautiful, maybe not to the media standards but in Gods eyes we are. May you were the beauty that is in your heart on your outside. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Making My Home Sing Monday

I found another wonderful blog that can be a blessing to all of us. It is Mom's The Word. It is a way of listing the things to make your home sing. Kind of like Whatcha Working on Wednesday but on Monday. So go on over and check out out Mom's blog it is great and sign up to join in.
I love being a homemaker. Sometimes I am better at it than others. Last week was a not so good week for me. I let my schedule get way off track and things have piled up, but this week is going to be a good one I can just feel it.
In "Making My Home Sing" today I will do the following:
Wash: All wash from hubby and I including bedding
Dust house throughout
Vacuum House throughout including the stairs
Wash E'lyse, Faith and Gabby's clothes in their hampers they brought down
Fold and put away clothing
Sweep and mop tile throughout the house
Unload dishwasher
Clean up girls room to get it organized (AGAIN)
Clean out master closet of clothing that hasn't been worn for over a year
Go to grocery store and do light shopping trip

French Vanilla Rasberry Muffins and Red Envelope

Today before church I was looking through a craft magazine and found this recipe for French Vanilla Raspberry Muffins. I thought what a great opportunity to use the Thrive freeze dried raspberries.
Had a wonderful time at church. Today was Fast and Testimony meeting. The testimonies that were born today were uplifting and some very touching.
Sunday school we are learning more about Joseph Smith and his life.
Since it is the fifth Sunday we had combined Relief Society and Priesthood. I like it when I can't sit next to my sweetie. It was a good uplifting lesson on missionary work.
We got home and I finished up preparing dinner and we ate.
After our early dinner of Diet Coke roast, mash potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob and whole wheat dinner rolls I made the muffins.
Recipe goes like this:
Ingredients:
French vanilla or regular vanilla cake mix 1box (18.25 ounces)
2 Tbls. flour
3 eggs
2/3 cup of milk (I used soy)
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. baking powder
2 cups raspberries

I think the raspberries are so pretty and bright.
Mixing it all together.
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients together. Spoon into prepared muffin cups. Bake at 375* for about 20 minutes or until tops are lightly browned.
For optional glaze, mix 1 Tbls. of milk and 1/4 tsp. of vanilla in a microwave safe bowl. Heat until warm, approximately 10 seconds. Mix in 3/4 to 1 cup of powdered sugar until thick enough to create a glaze. Drizzle over the muffins. I used a small wisk to drizzle mine.
They smell so good and I think they are very pleasing to the eye.
This is the inside of the one I sampled. .
The raspberries give them a little tart kick and are really juicy. I will be purchasing more of the freeze dried fruit from Shelf Reliance. I didn't even have to reconstitute the raspberries.
Before they could even get cold off I had the kiddos coming and asking if they could have some. I had to make them wait so I could get the picture. Gabby has already eaten 3 of them and she is the picky one of the family.
I will be using this recipe and changing flavors of fruit and different flavored cake mix too. These are easy and so yummy! Much easier with the freeze dried fruit all ready to go. No cutting or trimming.

Don't forget to get your red envelopes for Tuesday. Click on the link below to get filled in on the Red Envelope program. They need to be mailed out on Tuesday.
Now I am off to spend some time with hubby. Have a great Sunday night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I'm Back

I am back in blogland. I have been missing in action for a couple of days. Hubby and I went to a workshop/seminar to help us reach the goals in our lives. It was by invitation and an awesome seminar. It was being recorded for an audio of the book that Kevin Sparks wrote. He is the man that ran the seminar, he and his beautiful wife Kristan. It was 9 to 5 on Friday and Saturday. I was filled with so much valuable information that I was mentally tired when I got home but excited to put all I learned into action. Now I know that some people are not ready for this kind of thing but check out the web site Getting Rich God's Way .
Coco held down the fort for us both days. Thank you Coco for all your help.
Today is the Sabbith and I am looking forward to church and being filled with the spirit. After this weekend my life will never be the same it will be way better each day.
As you can see I have decided to give a try to using advertising on my blog. So check them out when they are up and running. Thank you!!
Coco sent me this story and I thought it was cute! Have a great Sunday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Giving Up Chocolate

"I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.

I took out my wallet, got out ten dollars and asked, 'If I give you this money, will you buy chocolate with it instead of dinner?'

'No, I had to stop eating chocolate years ago', the homeless woman told me.

'Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?' I asked.

'No, I don't waste time shopping,' the homeless woman said. 'I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive.'

'Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?' I asked

'Are you NUTS!' replied the homeless woman. I haven't had my hair done in 20 years'

Well, I said, 'I'm not going to give you the money. Instead I'm going to take you out for dinner with my husband and me tonight.'

The homeless woman was shocked. 'Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty and I probably smell pretty disgusting.'

I said, 'That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and chocolate."

Comic Relief

As I was reading through blogs I came across this post on Heidi Swapps blog Still Me. Check out her blog she is a very talented gal. So with no further a due here is some comic relief:

One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.

Along comes a Game Warden in his boat. He pulls up alongside the woman and says, 'Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?'

'Reading a book,' she replies, (thinking, 'Isn't that obvious?')

'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her.

'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading'

'Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up.'

'For reading a book,' she replies,

'You're in a Restricted Fishing Area,' he informs her again,

'I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading'

'Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up.'

'If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault,' says the woman.

'But I haven't even touched you,' says the game warden.

'That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment.'

'Have a nice day ma'am,' and he left.

MORAL: Never argue with a woman who reads. It's likely she can also think.

Send this to four women who are thinkers.

FHE on Sunday Night and Monday Night

Sunday night Coco, Kyle and Talmage came over to have Family Home Evening. Coco and Kyle brought over their WII. We did a lot of laughing for a couple of hours. This is the family portrait.
Okay it is just some of us. Dallas is the one in the green shirt upper right. Looks just like him. he he
Kyle and Gabby boxed. Talmage cheered everyone on.
Faith and Gabby did yoga for a while. Talmage had fun trying to join in with his own little WII run while his mom & dad ran against each other.
crawling over Dad gum (Alan) . I think he tired grandpa out though. Soon after this Dad gum (aka Grandpa, Alan) fell asleep and Coco decided it would be fun to paint her Dad's fingernails. She only did the left hand, but it was really too creepy for my sweetie to have my pink nail polish on his hand. Talmage thought this was just wrong in every way.
Talmage was worn out from all the action and fell asleep in my arms. I put him on a pillow on the floor and he slept till it was time to go home.
After we got done playing we had treats. I made these brownies with walnuts. The left side was left for the two kiddos that don't like nuts in theirs.
Coco and Kyle asked if I would watch Talmage while they went on a date. The girls danced and sang to entertain Talmage. He came to me and wanted up so we danced around the living room too. He looks like his is thinking we are all nuts! And he is right but we have fun.
When it was time to wined down we watched Elmo. This is Gabby holding Talmage Then Gabby was pretending to cut his hair. He loves his hair to be played with. He grew tired of that an went off to play with his toys.
My dog who is an older dog Nellie loves to just observe Talmage just stayed at the side watching us play. She is an Australian Shepard /Border Collie. She is also the other Queen of the house and she loves her belly rubbed.
She is such a good dog.
So that was my Sunday and Monday night. They have fun! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Homemaking Mondays and Menu Plan Monday

Good Homemaking Monday morning. The weather has had a little twist and there is a bit of a nip in the air. I love it! We slept with our window open last night after having the AC on Saturday due to the higher temperatures. I just love mornings like this.
Dallas went back to school today his Spring break is over and today is the girls last day.
For my Homemaking Monday tip: I plan my menu on Sunday and the grocery list. Then on Monday (I am just starting this part today) I will do as much preparation as possible. Meaning any or the veggies that are to be used in the dishes I will cut up and store them in a container or bag in the refrigerator or freezer depending on what it is. It will be on a certain shelf and labeled what it is and the dinner it is for. I will also do this with any of the canned items that are used. I will have a special shelf for them in the pantry, they will be numbered and labeled on the top with a sharpie marker. This way I can see what I am in need of for the week and make sure I use up what I have in the fridge, freezer and canned food to keep food storage rotated.
Menu Plan Monday:
Crock Pot Lemon Pepper Chicken
Steamed Broccoli
Seasoned Potatoes

Easy Beef and Pasta Supper
Sugar Snap Peas
Garlic Bread

Chicken Orecchiette
Salad
Orange Wedges
Crusty Bread

Homemade Pizza
Salad

Date Night

Cheese Quesadillas
Soup
Salad

Roast
Mash Potatoes
Gravy
Green Beans
Salad

Have a great Monday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Feeling

Hubby decided he would make breakfast this morning and let me start getting ready for church. We had to be at church early for Temple recommend interviews. We were late (as usual) I got to go first. As I am in the interview answering the questions I start to cry feeling this wonderful love for my Father in Heaven. It was so uncontrollable and I finally got a hold of my self about 5 minutes after I was done with the interview. It was then time for church to start so hubby had to wait to get in during Sunday school. The kiddos were coming with Dallas who was very late getting them there. In the mean time I sat in the back of the church by myself and reflecting on life lately. Thinking of all the different trials and blessing that I have experienced. I found my mind way off of what was going on. I just felt a great love and happiness for the trials I have been given, for the loving family that Alan and I have and the wonderful people I have met, be it in person or blogs & emails. What a great life that I have been given.
The spirit was so strong for me in church today and I was so touched by the sounds and there were many! There was 4 members of the youth that sang and it was so beautiful, I just loved the sound and talent they shared.
Lately I have been reflecting on my calling as a mother and wife. I think so many times I take for granted the wonderful and loving husband/eternal companion I have. We get along so well and are total opposites. He is serious most of the time and I am a dingbat. He thinks things through and I just want to jump in and take the risk. I am so very grateful for this guy. He puts up with my nutty ideas and crazy things I do and say. He is my rock and I love him.
Then thinking about my children and how much they have grown and seeing the different strengths in each of them. With all the many laughs and tears that have been shed. It is amazing that I have been given so much to be responsible for. I would do anything for them even give my life for them.
I often wounder what I am suppose to be doing in my life and yes I guess I am doing what the Lord wants me to do. But my thoughts are to strive to do more that will bring blessings to my husband and children.
I am often inspired by blogs that I read to change things or make things to make my house beautiful and be a more productive person. The Lord works in many ways to speak to us through others. So thank you to all you wonderful bloggers that inspire and touch my life even if you don't know you do.
My I encourage you in a positive way sometimes.
Have a great Sunday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Date And Things

Blond Duck I think Rubber Chicken has a relative that just showed up at my house today! If you want a good read go check out A Duck In Her Pound she is a great writer.
Last night when hubby who I now affectionately call "ROY" due to Quigley Down Under move he watched the other night. Too long of a story to tell if you see the movie you will understand. Anyway he brought me home these They are called Alstroemeria. I call them pretty! He knows how I love the beauty of flowers. I am so blessed to have him in my life. We had a fun date night other than he has been fighting a nasty cold.
Yesterday afternoon when Coco was here Talmage was getting a little fussy so I tried giving him a bottle and he drank a little then tried to throw it. So I laid him like a little baby in my arms and started to rock the sweet little man. He was doing almost a humming noise with every rock foreword and after about 15 rocks he was out. This was after he was laid down on my couch.
It is amazing how much fun a person can get out of watching a little one sleep. But to this day if I find one of my kiddos laying on the couch asleep I will just watch them for a while and I think of how wonderful these people are and how much I love each and everyone of them.
My hubby has a major addiction and it is these: They are called as you can see NIPS. At night when we are watching our favorite show to watch and laugh at "Frasier", he reaches over to his night stand and grabs one and makes a noisy sucking noise to make me laugh. He is a nut! His favorite of these are Butter Rum he will do almost anything for them.
Last but not least the little girls, Coco and Talmage and I went to Hobby Lobby and The Dollar Store today. I found this great sign for half off
It reminded me of the movie "Chocolat" with Johnny Depp
I love this movie!
Well off to get dinner going. Coco, Kyle and Talmage are coming over for dinner tonight.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Temple Visitors Center

My kids are a bunch of animals!
We ran into Michael's on our way to Mesa. Faith and Gabby were having fun with the animal hats. While there I got to see one of my favorite floral designers Dorthy, who I have known for a while and always stops to visit with me.
Then as I was checking out a good friend Trudy had spotted me in the window coming into the store. She use to be Coco's Young Woman's Leader and became my friend. She is an amazingly talented and beautiful lady with a heart of gold. It was so good to see her and visit for a little while.
It really made me miss my buddies from Ashley Heights ward. sniff sniff

My Savior, My Redeemer
Then we (Coco, Talmage, Faith, Gabby and myself) went to the Mesa Temple visitors center. We watched a movie called "The Other Wise Man". It had a good lesson of course and I didn't cry. Woo Hoo! Usually I come out with big old raccoon eyes from crying.
There was a beautiful art exhibit also by Aron Friberg. The art work was all pictures from the Book Of Mormon. No pictures were allowed to be taken in the exhibit area.
We then went in by the huge statue of Jesus. I wanted to share some pictures with you of our little trip. Faith, Gabby, Coco and Talmage.
I then tried to get a picture of Coco and Talmage. He didn't want to turn around. Then I wanted to get one of Gabby, Faith and Talmage. He still didn't want to stop staring at The Jesus statue.
When he says Jesus it is said in almost a whisper of reverence. So precious!
Then we went out walking on the Temple grounds.
Someone just got married and they were outside getting pictures taken and being hugged by family and friends. I decided to take a picture of the family.
When I got sealed to my sweet Alan, no one took pictures of us as we came out of the Temple. I am forever upset with this. We got married civilly a year before and have pictures of that but not of this very special day of our eternal union.
It smelled so pretty and everything was just glorious in color and sent.
This tree I believe is a Decorative Plumb
Some lovely Bottle Brush trees
Beautiful flowers of every color. I was especially fond of this one.
The building in this picture to the right is of the set for the Easter Pageant.
The Easter pageant began as a sunrise service in 1928. Now it is the world's largest annual outdoor Easter pageant, with a cast of over 400.
Come to the Mesa, Arizona Easter Pageant and experience the life and teachings of Jesus Christ through music, dance, and drama.

Jesus the Christ presents reenactments from the King James Version of the Bible to tell the story of Jesus Christ's birth, ministry, selfless death, and miraculous Resurrection. Performances are presented in both English and Spanish. American Sign Language is also available.

It is an awesome event to come see. I remember waking up and walking down to the Temple as a kid with our blankets to watch this with my family. When we lived so close to walk to it in the evenings you could hear the singing as it floated through the sky, it was truly magical.

This last picture is one of my favorites of the day.

It is always a wonderful experience to go to the Temple to go through for a session or to just go to the visitors center. It is very peaceful and always beautiful no matter what time of the year. Tonight is date night. Do you have anything special planned? Hubby and I are doing a date night in our room. I will feed the kiddos and we will have a little bit later dinner and have time to visit and snuggle afterwords. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Award

I was given an award today by sweet Lilly Sue (love her name we could be sisters from the south) over at her fun and creative blog A Peace Of Bliss . Thank you so much for this award Lilly Sue it was so thoughtful of you. Thank you for your sweet comment about my name too! That put a big old smile on my face.
The requirements are to list 10 things about yourself and then pass it on to others. So here goes nothing.
1. I have a wonderful family that I love with all my heart and soul. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for blessing me with all these great people in my life.
2. I never thought I would get married let alone have children. Even though I was engaged 5 times before Mr.Right came along and swept me off my feet.
3. I took me three years to get pregnant. I wanted children so bad and we went through fertility specialists until one told me to stop thinking about getting pregnant and get a job I loved. So I got a job as a Chapter 1 teacher in Oct. of 89 and in on December 4th I found out I was pregnant with Coco.
4. I wanted to legally change my name to Coco when I was 13. I was studying Fashion Merchandising and fell in love with the Coco Chanel designs. So I wanted to have that great name. My parents would do it so I kept my name and decided I would name a child it someday.
5. From the time I can remember I have always read in the bathtub. I read so much faster in the tub than anywhere else.
6. My dream is to live on a farm that would be self-sufficient. Raising animals, having a huge garden, with solar energy and a well. This way I wouldn't owe anyone any money. Not that I am a environmentalist but I was born in the wrong time period.
7. I use to be a model. I went to Plaza Three Finishing and modeling school. Then went into print modeling from the time I was 13 to 21. I had big dreams and then at 21 retired from the business. I was way to short but could get away with it in pictures. Got tired of starving myself to fit that mold.
8. I love to celebrate holidays. The planning, decorating, cooking and crafting for them is so much fun. Not just the major one either.
9. If I had my way I would have a different set of dishes to match the type of dinner I was serving each night. Of course with cloth napkins, table cloth and serving dishes too.
10. I would love to know what my mission here on earth is. I pray that I am doing what Heavenly Father wants me to do but still not sure what I want to be when I grow up.

Now to pass this award on.

Cousins Get Together and Thursday

Wednesday wasn't at all what I had planned at the beginning of the week but that is okay. I need to be a little more flexible.
Alan and Dallas went shooting and didn't get home till after 4. The scouts had already left but they had fun. I was glad they were able to spend time together. Before I know it Dallas will be graduating from high-school and going to college and hopefully decide to go on a mission.
When he got home he had about an hour before he had to leave again. He decided to take E'lyse and her BFF, Ahston to the cousins party but since we live a good ways away he didn't want to have to come back home then all the way over there again so he made arrangements to go get material with the guy he is doing a side job for on Saturday to kill the three hours.
Faith, Gabby and I were home hanging out. I did some work on the computer and reading some blogs, made dinner while the girls played together. It was a somewhat quiet evening. Alan finally got home at 10:45, I tried to stay awake but I ended up falling asleep while watching TV. So it was another late night and I can't do them anymore unless I am fueled with a lot of Diet Coke. he he
Here is a picture I borrowed from Kara's blog of the cousins get together. All these kiddos are close to the same age. I got to hear all about how cool the cousins are and what fun they had at Todd and Kara's house. Thank you for having this party the girls had a blast! You are officially a very cool mom Kara.
Top row: Ashton (not related, but a friend of Elyse's)
, Michael, Braelyn Middle Row: Porter, Elyse, Ty, Conner
Bottom Row: Hannah, Audrey, Kaylee, Elisabeth.
There are so many members of my sweeties family and sometimes I am not sure who's child is who's. That is one good thing in our family we are the alphabet family and our names go straight down the line.
Today Coco and I went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few items that were needed, came back to my house and ate lunch. I need to get started on my house blessings for the day and be productive. I am in a very deep thinking mood and find myself sitting just staring into space of what is on my mind. I have been reading some blogs that make me want to be a better wife/mother. I am having a feel of inadequacy in my life. Maybe a Diet Coke would do me good right now!
Hope you all have a great day. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
