Extreme Makeover:Me Edition Early

It's time for Extreme Makeover: Me Edition
It has been a good week not a great week just good. I have eaten a little better but I haven't been pigging out on junk food other than the Jack In The Box Oreo Shake oh boy that thing was great for PMS. I am such an emotional eater and sometimes it isn't till after I have eaten that I think about it. I have tried the stopping and waiting and I still do it most of the time.
I have not been exercising like I should but doing a lot more walking. I do better if I try not concentrate on the me too much and just keep busy and active. Does that make since?
I just took an Intentional Creation Assessment test and got the results. This is through Og Mandino . I had a discussion with one of their mentors and in the assessment I found out I am too judgmental of myself and want perfection from me and hold back from doing things if there is a chance I might fail or look follish. Hmmm..... Man it was right. So many times in my life I have been scared of doing something that I might not be able to do and avoided it. Time to change that thinking and progress. I think this is part of what holds me back. I work out for a while see a little progress and get a few comments of how I am looking good and then nothing for a while and I give up. This is going to be a challange for me to overcome.
This week assignment for the Etreme Makeover: Me Edition is:
Share with us a healthy recipe:
This recipe is not one I made up but one that a friend Janel made me one day for lunch when she became my mentor in fitness. The funny thing is I am not a big tuna fan but this is good I learned it is all in the kind of tuna you use.
Tropical Tuna Sandwich
Servings: 2
1 can (6oz) Bumble Bee Tuna in water, drained.
2 Tbsp. or less of Miracle Whip Free
1 Tbsp. crushed pineapple, drained
2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish (or not)
1 tsp. yellow mustard
1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon
4 slices whole-wheat bread
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, combine tuna, Miracle Whip, pineapple, relish, mustard and cinnamon; mix well.
Spread a portion of tuna mixture on 2 slicws of bread. Top with remaining slices of bread.
Lightly coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Place sandwiches in the pan and cook over medium heat for about 2 or 3 minutes on each side, until the sandwiches are warm and the bread is slightly browned.
Slice tuna sandwiches in half, serve and enjoy.
Like I said I am not a big fish fan unless it is coated, fried and there is a lot of dipping sauce but this sanwich is really good. Don't judge until you try it!
Working on the thinking change and add more exercise to my day for the rest of this week.
Tonight the Biggest Loser is on so I will be watching this. Have a great night!
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

This sounds, uh, interesting. I hate Miracle Whip, and I'm not sure about the pineapple with the tuna!

I hear you on the emotional eating. That test sounds great! I think I'm gonna have to head on over there and take it. And I think you've given me the idea for next week! I'll either do this test or another one like it {b/c a lot of people may end up taking the test this week}.

That tuna sounds very interesting!! I'm gonna have to try it. A tuna sandwich is one of the lunches I like to eat b/c it's typically lower in points. But I get so tired of the same ole. This sounds like it could spice it up!! Thanks for sharing!

I actually enjoy a tuna fish sandwich every now and again, and this sounds pretty good (though I might have to use mayonnaise instead of the miracle whip). We can be so hard and judgemental on ourselves, I know. I'm so glad that you're challenging yourself. As long as you're trying and making healthy changes, you cannot fail! :)

I'm such an emotional eater, too! It really is hard even when you know what's triggering your eating to stop yourself from hittin the snacks :)

Just take the excercise one day at a time. You can do it!!

I'm hard and judgmental with myself also. I'll have to take the quiz. Sounds pretty cool.

Good luck next week!

Much love from NJ,

It's so hard to be brave when we're afraid of failure! I feel your pain!

I LOVE tuna, and I especially love grilled tuna sandwiches.

I can't wait to try this out!

Okay...I made the BEST tuna sandwiches quite ahile ago. They had small apples pieces in it. My family HATED it! As much as I would probably enjoy this, I'd get boo'd out of the house. Maybe I should come have lunchh with you.

Have a great day!

If it werent for emotional eatung I bet I could lose 50 pounds this summer. I understand that. Your profile sounds similar to mine...if you come up with something to fix the not doing something for fear of failure let me know.

That tuna salad sounds yummy! I love tuna, wish the kids did or I'd make it more. Regarding your status update, just remember you're doing this for you, not for how others think you look - be healthy & the happy will follow.

Good luck with everything. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now. I sure hope the business goes well for your family.
It is amazing how good change in a life can bring positive light to yourself.
