Homemaker Mondays

I found this great blog ran by a mother of 9. Her blogs name is 11Th Heaven Homemaking Haven .She has what is called Homemaker Mondays. I love being a homemaker and the idea is to post anything that has to do with homemaking so we can learn from each other, either mistakes or things that have worked. Since there hasn't been a lot to blog about since Christmas I thought this sounded like so much fun. So for my very first HOMEMAKING MONDAY I picked to share with you the way I keep up on laundry without going crazy.
I have an assigned day for each person in the house. The schedule goes like this:
Monday: Alan & I, all clothing and bedding.
Tuesday: Dallas (Same with all the kiddos)
Wednesday: E'lyse
Thursday: Faith and Gabby
Friday: No wash
Saturday: Wash that might be needed for the following week before the persons laundry day.
The dish towels and cloth napkins are done about every other night.
This works out great. The kiddos bring their wash down before school and it is ready when the get home to be put away or hung up.
I am looking for ward to reading the other blogs tips. So go to the sweet mother of 9's blog and check it out. Heck you might as well just sign up and share your ideas.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

OK getting caught up here...YAY on your treadmill, I am so jealous! Thanks for your nice words about our talks, I am glad it's over!

I don't have a laundry strategy, I try to do one but I can't stick to it. I just do it "as needed" but I have a REALLY big (the biggest)washer/dryer so I don't have to do too many loads and I don't get behind too often.

My best homemaking idea is that I houseclean from one end of the house to the other. I get all the machines working (dishes, washer) and the start in the back and work forward so it forces me to finish. About the time the machines are done, I'm almost done.

Now I just need to do it all more often :D

I have trouble sticking to a laundry schedule, too. It's just on my highest dread list always. Perhaps I'll have to try your system.

Hi Bobbi Jo! Thanks so much for your first entry at Homemaker Monday! I LOVE your laundry idea. I should try to implement something like that because sometimes things get really, really overwhelming. I think I need a change! Thanks again for your great ideas and I sure hope to see you back next monday. Have a great one!

When my 4 boys were little, I had one marathon laundry day - Monday. As their clothes got bigger and we added a little girl, though, it's all gone to pieces. I admire your schedule.
