I Need To Vent AGAIN

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had it. I go to the school to pick up Dallas . I take 3 of his friends home and then he spills the beans to me .He tells me that he is in 1st hour, English. The teacher starts going off on the students telling them that they need to be diversified and have an open mind to the new incoming President. Pish posh!!!! My son said he almost raised his hand and said "Can you please stop preaching and just teach us English?" I told him I would have totally backed him. I am sorry for those who love the incoming President but it is the same old same old coming into office. To me it is the Clinton years all over again. Crap half or more of the cabinet is Clinton hand me downs. Okay now my blood pressure is rising and I am feeling loud. I just don't see the big CHANGE that is suppose to come. What are the changes. So much is staying the same as with Pres. Bushes years, not that all that is bad either mind you.
Just to let you know I am a Rush baby and I don't back down. he he Ask Coco. Please don't hate me for ranting again.
So now off my soap box and on with the weekend. Tonight we are meeting up with my brother Mark and his sweet yet blunt wife Renee' for dinner. I am excited to get away for a while. Hubby is working tomorrow so I am planning on working around the house and reading a new book I got.
Have a great weekend. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I think it's fine to keep an open mind and see what happens. But I tend to be more liberal than you. :)

If I remember correctly the Clinton years balanced our budget after the First Bush took the middle class down to poverty.
All I can say is Bye-Bye Georgie!
Welcome President Elect! Obama acknowledges there are hard working middle class in this society that not everyone rides there parents shirt tails.
Blessings for a Better Future!
However I do not agree with a teacher lecturing children on politics.....

It's not the english school teacher's place to talk about politics, no matter what their opinion is. Too bad your son didn't say anything. Is he in high school? I've heard nothing but complaints about QC high school's principal. And the yearbook fiasco last year? Plus the crossdresser who wanted to run for homecoming queen....please can I keep my son home from high school?

I guess it comes down to the simple things in life that have changed. So many times we get caught up in the glamorous parts of life and forget that hope is such a precious commodity in this world full of hate and pure dismay. Now maybe you have no idea what it feels like to wake up in the morning with no other motivation than hope. Hope for something better, and not bigger. I bet the people in Alabama said the same things when a young black man started walking in the middle of the street. Hey guess what don't we celebrate a national holiday for that man. I'm sorry that I got up on my soapbox, but please do not put yourself on the same humble stage as the freedom riders. They truly stood on a soapbox for what they believe.

P.S.

Tell your son to read Martin Luther King Jr.'s words, and not just his “I Have a Dream” speech.

I think they teach that in English!

okay i will get on a soapbox too!!lol i am just so tired of people making this a black and white issue. get over it. he is a man just like you and me. sure i dont like him because of what he wants and has done and NOT because of his color. sure i want to see what he can do. and who knows maybe he can get this country back where it needs to be. what scares me is that he is NOt military and we are. then there is that little issue that he wants to ban all guns. i dont know about you but we use guns to put food on our table and to keep out of harms why when the bears rum the streets. and i do mean REAL bears run the streats in the spring.
okay i am done...
have a great weekend. hope the weather in the valley is better? when we left there last week boy was it cold!!

You know, I know everyone loves to trash Bush, but history repeats itself. In about twenty years, they'll recongize what he has done. As far as Obama, I think it's been played out. This country can never be united if we continue to make such a huge deal about our differences. He's black. So what? If we want to teach our children to be open-minded, then we should celebrate his policies, not his skin color.

I agree with blond duck. Obama has a great opportunity to be great...I hope he embraces it.

After leaving your blog I went over to Jan's blog (crazylady on road 80) and read her post about what Obama's plans are for abortion laws...I could have just bawled. If this is an example of what he plans to do...we are in BIG trouble!

Geeze mom way to be raciest. I mean clearly you are only looking at the color of his skin. Why would dislike him other wise. Can't you see beyond the dark pigment on his body. Look deeply into what he is saying..... BLA BLA BLA BLA.

I am sorry people don't understand that you don't care that he is black. Well he isn't genetically but you know whatever.

Great now I will have people coming on my blog and harassing me.
Whats the blogging world coming to?

If Obama was yellow, blue and pink, I'd still have more hope for our country than another Bush term or, heaven forbid, McCain. I've just never heard so much hate in a blog post.

I have missed your blog for the last couple days I guess. So much drama for a blog where YOU get to write YOUR feelings.
I don't know if the rest of the world is aware of this but Obama is also WHITE. It is Halle Berry winning the oscar all over again. apparently, even according to her acceptance speech, she only got it for being black. Way to go people, electing based on the color of someone's skin. MLK wanted EQUALITY. I am not a big fan of Obama, but for this country's sake I hope he doesn't fall on his butt. I think what we can expect he'll do is nothing, wasn't that all he did as a senator
