Pink Saturday

It is Pink Saturday again. What a fast & busy week I have had and welcome the weekend. I wanted to share these pictures with you.
Happy Pink Saturday to everyone. This week DH had brought me home some pretty flowers and as soon as I saw it I thought that will be on Pink Saturday post.
The next is a picture of Talmage. Coco has a orange canister that she keeps her silk scrap booking flowers in. When Talmage is in the den he likes to make music with this. He is only 8 months so this is actually banging on it. Coco decided to open it and let him play with the flowers. He loved them he was throwing them up in the air and they would land on his head. He did decide that they don't taste very good though.

Yes, that is a Pink flower he is eating. Now it is time for us to all go have a fun Pink Saturday. My two youngest and I have a Mommy & Daughter Achievement Day party to go to, I have cleaning and wash to get done and then the little girls have a pre-Halloween party tonight to go to, the other two children have plans with friends and some work this morning to do. Hubby went to work and is planning on doing some quail hunting this evening so we will all have a full day. Have a great day. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

YEAH it is Friday!

I am so glad that it is Friday. I still haven't decided what my favorite day of the week is. Everyday seems to have something special that I enjoy.
So let me back up to yesterday. I had 2 Parent Teacher Conferences for my youngest 2 girls. Went to talk with Gabby's teacher first. She said that it was strange that on August 29Th Gabby(who is in 3rd grade) walked up to her and told her,"It is amazing how much work you can get done when you don't talk." Her sweet teacher said from that day forward she was more mature and has been doing very well on all her work in class. Gabby loves school and has been moved up in the highest math group in class. After this we went to see Faith's teacher. Faith(who is in 4Th grade) loves school and learning. Her teacher couldn't say enough good things about her. Faith is reading at a 5.7 grade level and is being given different material to help her move along. I am so happy to see this being done instead of stifling the children in school. I don't mean to sound arrogant or bragging about these two little girls. I am very proud of them and so happy they are learning and being their own little persons.
When we got home Coco had gotten a trial pair of pull-ups in the mail. E'lyse came in and she threw the pull-ups at her. I told her she should save them but she said she didn't want to hold on to them for the next 2 or 3 years for Talmage. She then told E'lyse she should put them on. So E'lyse being silly did. Then Coco put purple spots all over Elyse's face. We told her to go over to our neighbors house who is my good friend also and ask her if she had any kids her age to play with.
This is a long story so hang in here with me. When we first moved in we were on of the first houses completed on our street. When I saw a man and a little girl out front at the spec house (this is a house they build and finish and sell as is) next door I had to go talk to them. Finding out she was as old as Gabby I was excited. About 3 days after they moved in Gabby went over dressed in her bathing suit that had a built in tube to help a child float. This picture was taken that morning, she wanted to try and scare us so with a red marker she made chicken pox.
Gabby talks with a some what New York accent. It is really cute. She went over and rang the doorbell my friend Melanie answered the door and saw this little girl. Gabby looks up and said(Written the way it would sound) ," Do wue have a wittle girl to play wif?" Melanie was in shock and started laughing. Then the next time Gabby went over with stickers all over her face, arms, hands and legs. She has always been a character. So that is why we thought this would be funny to have E'lyse do this. Now Faith and Gabby are trying out for drama club and the play in two weeks and E'lyse is in drama at her school. There is never a day to put your guard down in this house.
In the evening Coco, Kyle and Talmage went up to Pinetop to visit till Monday. It was odd not having them here last night or this morning. Generally when I get up Kyle is getting ready to leave for the Academy as I am making Alan's lunch. Then about 5 ish or sometimes earlier Coco will come out with Talmage. He is always with a smile on his face, even when not fully awake. It will be weird today to not have Coco to chat with throughout the day.
The girls start their fall break next week. I think they are looking forward to that. But Dallas being that he goes to school in the different school district will be going back to school from his break. No big plans for this other than some organizing of the house and inventory of food storage. Maybe even a costume or two being made for Halloween.
Today I am going to work on things around the house. The girls get out early so I won't have a bunch of time to do things. Working on my menu is my main item to work on today. Wash and straightening up will be done in between for breaks from the computer.
So now it is Friday and time for date night. I got steaks on sale so we are having steaks Alan and I , Dallas & E'lyse have plans and I will make something special for the two little girls to have. Hope you all have a great day and do something fun with your honey tonight. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Boy I have been a blog slacker. Monday I didn't have much to say and didn't even get my menu posted, I did get the house decorated for Halloween , yesterday I woke up tired. I decided to take a nap and ended up waking up at 10 and then went shopping. Ended up running a couple other errands and didn't blog then. Today I am better rested, ran my errands and now I am going to work on my year menu, clean out my water barrels and fill, pick up girls from school and maybe a scrapbook page if I get to it. After the girls are home it is hard to work on crafts without them not wanting to do them too.
On Monday when I decorated I put one of those cheapy plastic door covers on the little girls bedroom door. They loved it.
Yesterday Faith and Gabby were making Halloween decorations and I wanted to share these with you.

Faith made this page using pipe cleaners or chenille stems, fuzz balls and construction paper. I think it is so sweet. I love her zombie, it reminds me of the Micheline Man. he he These girls are very crafty.

Gabby made these little bats using fuzz balls, googly eyes, and construction paper. This was her own idea to make them. Then she used purple raffia to hang them in front of their bedroom door.

Now this morning Gabby came in the den after freshly waking up. I thought she looked a little like a rooster. She is so silly.
So it took me forever to get this posted, sorry . Have a great Wednesday.
Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Gratitude

Today as our loving Prophet Thomas S. Monson spoke to members all around the world he spoke of being thankful for our blessings. He said about some day when there is no more little finger prints on every clean surface and no more wash piling up we will miss these things. I said to my DH I will? I guess I will some day. He spoke of the gratitude we need to show and the love and compassion we feel for others. So what better way to do this is a very small way but on my blog. I am so very grateful that I do have the gospel in my life daily. This is something that has helped me to become a better person and has given me strength in troubled times. I am so thankful for the wonderful eternal companion, husband and best friend I have married. I have wonderful loving and intelligent children who love me even when I am grouchy. I am so proud of their daily accomplishments. I am thankful for my son in love who is a great husband to my oldest child and they have been given the blessing of having a little son of their own, who I love and enjoy so much. I am grateful for extended family I have as one of my best friends my youngest brother and his beautiful wife to talk to and share life with. My parents who have shared so many examples of being a good person and a hard worker. My hubbies family is so wonderful to me. My mother in love is a great lady. She is always there to share things with good or bad. She has raised 9 great children and all are active in the church raising their children and as I mentioned on a post last night just hit #72 of Great Grandchildren. I also have been blessed with so many great friends in the church and out of the church. Some of these being the beautiful ladies I have met through my blogging. I read and I am encouraged daily by all that you do and say. And the support that is given through this amazing tool the Internet. Thank you to all of you have touched my life. To my family and friends I pray for you and love you very much. I am forever grateful for the life I have had so far. I have grown so much in the past 22 years of being an active member of the church and look forward to learning and doing more with my life. I love my and I am so grateful for my big brother Jesus Christ for sacrificing for me and others. I am grateful to my Heavenly Father for all the wonderful blessing, freedoms and even the challenges he gives me. This I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
I am going to strive to be more grateful and show others that I am daily.
Hugs and have a wonderful Sunday. Bobbi Jo

WOW!

Random fact that I just found out. My mother in love just called and we were talking. She told me that there is now 72 Great Grand Children in the family. The family was huge when I married into it over 21 years ago. My DH has 9 children in his family and he is the baby so all of them were married the night his parents had a family party to meet me. It was scary! Not so scary now, just a LOT of them.
I have enjoyed a day of watching the Conference and in between session worked on the year long menu. Tonight it is just us gals at home and we are going to watch the First Season of Jon & Kate Plus 8 on DVD and eat dinner. Have a great evening.

Pink Saturday

Posting just a little early because I have plans for the morning.
Saturday's are so much prettier now that they are PINK! Beverly at How Sweet The Sound, started this and it is catching on in the blogisphere. My Pink's for today are these:

This is my new mouse pad this is why it is on my keyboard. I love the big Pink flower on the bottom.
This I thought was cool. It is October and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our fliers in Arizona are mostly Pink ! What could be funner than a Pink lost leader page? Maybe this little gal.
This is Jackie O'lantern. I just love her PINK DO! I made her last week from a design on a magazine by Matthew Mead. This is the magazine that is so fun! Great ideas for decorating and eating inside these pages. I am using many of them myself.

So that is my Happy Pink Saturday share for this week. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Proud of Hubby & Politics

I am so proud of my Hubby, Alan. He is awesome at his work even though he has never done commercial construction superintending, but he has caught on fast. He has built residential since he was old enough to do grunt work for his dad, this was age 5 or so. He has been doing residential the rest of the time. So with this new job he is building shops for the new Scottsdale mall area. They are 3 story buildings, bottom is a shop, next a office and then the top a condo. He is starting his second shop now. Anyway this past week OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) has been going out and checking all the different work sites for the company to see how they were doing. Yesterday at the monthly meeting DH was given a $100 gift card for Home Depot for having the safest & cleanest work site. This will be done every month and then at the end of three months they will put the names in a hat and pick a name and what do they win. A big new TV! Cool huh? Not that I am so thrilled about having a new TV but really happy for hubby who has stressed to keep on top of this new job and do the best he can. Great Job Alan!
On to politics. I know, here she goes again. My poor family hear me rant and rave about what is going on in the world of politics daily. I follow a lot of talk independent radio, read different non partial websites and try to avoid main stream media due to they are very impartial and don't check all the facts before it is out there or only take bits and pieces . I am not at all crazy with this bail out bill that is trying to be further past, I think the fat cat's need to give back the money (the higher ups who made the big bucks off of Fanny & Freddy) they know who they are. Last night watching the VP Debate was not as frustrating as the Presidential it was more comical to watch the faces& expressions of these two people and then to hear Biden say he was in support of something take a breath and then against the same thing. LOL It was FUN!! All around. I love Sarah Palin. She is a intelligent, fast thinking, down to earth, and beautiful lady. I think she did a great job in the debate and will make a great VP. As for the nay sayer's that say McCain is old and out of touch, they don't know what experience can do for a world. You look back at Ronald Regan who was an awesome president. The values that these 2 are bringing to the table are great. I don't know if my heart can take watching the coverage on election night I might have to take a Tylenol sleep aid and go to bed early to avoid the high blood pressure spouts I felt in these 2 debates I have watched so far. NOT KIDDING!
Today I finished up my Driver Safety online class and now have to find a notary to take the test. This is a thorn in my side right now! So I will get this done ASAP and get ready for the weekend.
I am so looking forward to this Conference weekend. For those of you who are not LDS in our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, every 6 months there is what is called Conference. It is usually carried on one of the TV channels. There are 2 sessions on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Time varies on where you live but this is a wonderful time to listen to great speakers speak on family values and the things we can do to be better people all around. I am not a pushy kind of gal when it comes to you have to belong to my church to be a good person. If you believe in God and try to follow his example there is no problem here.
Remember none of us are perfect we are just here on earth to learn and try. I had one of my little girls best friends say to my daughter that we weren't Christian. So I said to her," We believe and worship Christ as other Christians do so we are Christians, she looks at me and said "OH!" This is a major misconception of my faith.
If there is ever any questions about our church or about anything on my blog please don't hesitate to write and ask me. Knowledge is the best thing to have to become good friends and better people.
So this is what is up for my day. You all have a great day. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Evening of Excellence and Whatch Working on Wednesday

Last night was Evening of Excellence in our ward. This is E'lyse by the picture of the symbol of the Young Women. This evening was to honor the young ladies between the ages of 12 to 18 as a "Holder of His Light". This was the theme for this year.
This is E'lyse and Sis. Oram who is the Young Woman's President. She use to be one of Coco's YW leaders.
This is the tables that were set up with each of the girls projects they had been working on along with a head shot of each of the girls. E'lyse has been learning how to play the guitar. This is for her talent.
More of the Young Woman's projects......
And more.
In our church the youth are so wonderful. They are taught to strive to live as Jesus did. The young men are given the opportunity to earn their Eagle Scout award and the young woman are to earn their Young Woman's Recognition Award. It is a lot of work and takes many hours of the week and almost a full 4 years to achieve. They are encouraged to work on different aspects of their life, to reach goals and accomplish this by the time they turn 18.
Last night they served a yummy dinner and then had speakers, beautiful musical numbers and our Bishop spoke. The girls all then sang a song. It was so beautifully decorated with twinkling lights across the ceiling , white tablecloth's, pretty center pieces and just a wonderful ambiance for the spirit to be felt. The desert was beautifully decorated cupcakes. The girls each received a necklace with the Young Woman's torch on it to remind them that when they are not feeling so like they have the light that he is there for them. It was a wonderful evening. The YW leaders in our ward are awesome and I am so grateful for them and all they do for these girls.
On to Whatcha Working on Wednesday. Leslie is so sweet to host this every Wednesday and helps to keep us motivated. Today is the first day of October! Time to decorate for Halloween. I am in search for a round table for my entry way. I have had an idea cooking in my head since August for this table scape. I am planning on doing the decorating after a little bit of errand running this morning. I am also needing to do some scrap booking in a bad way. The erg hit me yesterday so I will scrap later today. I will share what I got done and maybe more pictures of it all. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

FALL is in The Air

I have been decorating and hoping the weather would cool off and feel like Fall was here. And yesterday it was. It was wonderful, windy and a little bit cooler. It was so windy that my cute little scarecrow Epson blew over.
Now I am not saying it was time to pull out the jackets or anything like that but it was to the point that I didn't about suffocate from the heat wave when I walked outside. I tried scaring my 12 yr. old daughter with it through the window, but it didn't work.
She was in my craft room that looks out to the front yard and I was making it hit the window and it was not successful. It has been working to scare my neighbors son when he takes out the trash, okay me and my other daughter at times too!
I tied Epson up to the tree so he can hopefully stay in place. Yes, he is named after my newest printer.
And this morning when sweet hubby left at 5 ish it was lovely outside. I said to myself there is hope it will cool off this year. Today it is once again windy but very sunny. Tomorrow it is time for decorating for Halloween. I am not into the scary stuff just the cute fun things. So that is what I will be working on tomorrow.
Today I had a couple of lessons on the drivers safety course I had to do. I am still working on the menu for next year and I am finishing up today's wash but I feel some fun things coming into play for a little later. CRAFTS that's right. Now what to work on. Hmmm I will have to go look. Tonight is the Young Women's In Excellence Night and they are having a dinner then the program so I won't need to make dinner. Well off to change wash over. Check in with you later. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
