Montezuma's Castle

Being that all three girls are on Spring break we wanted to go do something fun. We loaded up early Friday morning and took a trip to go see Montezuma's Castle  Here are a few pictures that I took. This is a HUGE tree as you go into the little museum part before walking out to see the actual ruins.
 Parking lot
Walking to the ruins. It is amazing that people lived in these.

Zoom lens to get a better look at the Castle. The people who lived in these used ladders to get down in to the rooms.
A little room in the rocks.
 More rooms throughout .
The Verde River that runs by the Castle. The people would get their water from here and take it up to their home on the side of the hill. Food provided by all the wild plants around along with the men hunting and bringing home game to eat.
This is a miniature replica of the Castle but front cut away. It has an audio that tells of the different uses of the rooms and the people.

Now that I look at these I realize I didn't take any pictures of my girls here oops! We had a good time and it was wonderful to learn more history of our home land.

Country Wings in Phoenix said...

Good Morning Bobbi Jo...
Oh my gosh, thank you so much for taking me along to Montezuma Castle. I have been wanting to go for some time. It is on our list of visits. We have been in Phoenix for 25 years almost, I think it is about time we took a tour. You have encouraged me. What a beautiful share today.

Thank you so much for taking me along. Country hugs sweetie, Sherry
