I Signed My Life Away

I signed my life away earlier today. I am going back to school starting January4Th, 2010 . It has been so long since I have been in school or even had a regular place to be outside of the home . I will going to Arizona School of Massage Therapy. Therefor along about the 5th week of school I will need volunteers to give massages to every evening as my homework. I am excited yet scared. It will be a major change of what I have been use to the past 19 1/2 years of being a stay at home mommy. I love being a SHAM but I feel it is time for me to get some education under my belt again. This has been a tough decision for over the past 4 years or so. I hope I will have everyone's support especially my family. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

You can do this easily, sweetpea! I KNOW you can. Lots of people get massages now so you're in a field that is ripe to harvest!

Geesh, y do you have to live so far away!? I'm a GREAT guinea pig for free massages! :)

I think you will love it! At my old job, Chubb Institute (now Anthem College), Massage Therapy was one of the courses offered. All the kids loved it, especially the hands on part! I was asked to be a guinea pig one day for a full body massage...hmmmm, let me think about that one...OKAY! haahaha! I had to get down to my skivvies with kids all around, and I swear they HAD to see up the towel...all well hahahaha. I enjoyed the 60 minutes of pampering! Also, when they did their externship (x amount of hours of massage, in the school, but in a cool classroom that looked like a massage place) I'd go on lunch to unwind...for FREE!

All the kids loved that program so I'm sure you will be just fine! if you need any advice financial aid wise, just shoot me an email (spaghetti0625@hotmail.com). I was the Senior Financial Aid Administrator before coming to where I am now. All my friends/family come to me asking Financial Aid question....I do miss it...working with numbers :(

Good for you! I hate the thought of touching people bodies, not for me, but still an awesome career choice. A few years ago, I was at a friend's house who had arranged for some massage grads to come give massages to any of us, and one of the girls had just been hired to be the massage person for the Diamondbacks team, with a nice salary! Good luck!
