Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Whatcha Working on Wednesday is once again upon us. I have been up several hours but feel like my day is half over. Last night hubby stayed up late watching Quigley Down Under
with Tom Selleck HUBBA HUBBA
I just adore, droll and lust for Tom Selleck and have since Magnum PI when I was a Freshman in high school. He is one of those men like Sean Connery that just gets better with age. A lot like my hubby!! Anyway so I was trying to go to sleep but couldn't because I kept wanting to look at TOM. I am pathetic! So didn't really get to sleep till 1 ish. This is very late for me. Anyway great movie if you haven't seen it I suggest it. Tom makes a great cowboy. YEEHAW!!
So today for my Whatcha Working on Wednesday I am going to hit Fry's sales, after coming home and putting items away I will then do some organizing of some papers in my craft room, start wash, line out girls on the things they need to do today, work on the knitting project to teach myself, switching out the wash, playing with kiddos, making cookies with the Butter Powder I am trying out, home blessings and fixing dinner.
Alan is off work and didn't go on the camp out last night due to Dallas but they are going out shooting with the scouts and later he is planning on taking the little girls fishing.
Now I better get going on my day. Have a great Wednesday and I will check in later.
Hugs, Bobbi jo

Part 1 Review of New Food Storage Product

I was sent an email from the wonderful people from Shelf Reliance. The ones who make the wonderful can rotation Cansolidator. They asked if I would be interested in trying out a new food line called THRIVE. Continually working on my food storage, 3 month supply and Emergency Preparedness kits I was very excited about this so of course I said YES! . So a few days later I received these in the mail. Aren't these great looking pouches?
First of all on the wonderful idea that THRIVE has is to color code the labels on the food containers. Grains are peach colored, vegetables green, fruits pink, dairy blue, meat and beans pale purple and basics yellow. What a clever idea! Better yet the prices are great!! You can check out all the items that are available at Shelf Reliance.com This way if you don't have a Cansolidator it is still easy to keep an organized pantry and keep easy inventory of your year supply. I received Butter Powder, Whole Eggs, White Sugar, Freeze Dried Strawberry, Raspberries, and White Flour.
It is so smart to have food storage in our homes. You very rarely run out of an item and the shelf life is amazing. It is like having a store in our home. Start slow and build upon it! Shelf Reliance has a great program to calculate how much you need for your individual family and the cost of the products to achieve this goal.
These pouches are labeled just like the cans. Easy color coded label This is the butter powder. It is marked as a basic on the white strip that is on the right side of the front of the pouch. This pouch is 6.7 oz. On the back all the THRIVE products have Nutrition information There is a suggestion of storage amount , rotation and usage information. Then on the right side of the label there is a recipe to use the product in . I am going to give this one for Chocolate Chip Cookies a try. One more thing the pouches are resealable. You cut or tear off the top part
Like this and use what you need then you can reseal it. There is a pinch type closing on the inside of the bag that looks like this
You can then
store it back on your shelf This Butter Powder smell very rich and has an almost fresh milk cream smell to it.
These pouches would be great to have for camping. They are small enough and would store easily in a box. You would have your basics without worrying about a container to put it in, the pouches are tough and wouldn't rip easily.
So throughout this week I will be trying different recipes with the products and giving you an update on how they are working out. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pictures of Birthday

Here are some of the pictures I said I would share from Elyse's Birthday
Elyse playing with Talmage.
Elyse's Birthday cake. No I didn't make it. I am so embarrassed.
Waiting to blow out candles.
Yes! She did it. Man there wasn't that many candles.
Talmage waiting for Birthday cake.
Dallas didn't want to wait to long for cake. Coco is on the side being silly.
Talmage enjoying cake.
E'lsye with gifts. Elyse's sweet ride.
I think this picture sums up the way most of the family was feeling after Birthday cake and ice-cream. Augh! I felt sick but had fun and it was great to celebrate Elyse's special day. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Homemaking Mondays and Menu Plan Monday

Homemaking Monday:

I like Mondays. To me they are a fresh start for a week to get things done. My Monday tip is start a Control Journal or a Home-management Journal. This will be a life saver. My Home-Management Journal has the following in it: a zippered bag(mine is Harley Davidson, so cool!) with stamps, pen, pencil and paper clips. Then School schedules and information on the children's' schools. Weekly cleaning schedule with the zones outlined, master grocery list, then comes my address book section with ward lists and family lists. Then I have a list of Birthdays and Anniversaries with pocketed dividers for each months cards. In the back I have gardening information or different holiday information depending on the time of the year. There are many great web sites you can get information on then just alter them to your families needs.

Menu Plan Monday: These are in no particular order other than the Rubens are for St. Patrick's Day!!

Chicken Divan
Rice
Fruit

Ruben Sandwiches
Green Eggs
Pistachio Pudding

Green Burritos
Corn
Honey Nut Peaches

Penne Pasta
Garlic Toast
Salad

Chicken Casserole
5 Cup Salad
Apple Turnovers

Date Night

Roast
Mash potatoes with Gravy
Rolls
Salad

Happy Birthday E'lyse- 13 yrs. Old

Today is our third child's birthday E'lyse Naomi. She is 13 years old. WOW!! Time has flown with this little girl. She has always had a big heart and when she isn't in her deep thinking she has a smile on her face.
This is just a small glimpse into her growing up
Love that face!! She loved to pose for a picture and still does. She had a great thing for pacifiers She sucked her pacifier upside down. When you put it in the right way she could flip it inside her mouth with her tongue. When I was a young woman's leader the girls would ask me to do it. It was very entertaining and what a talent. he he
This is her kindergarten picture. 1st Grade.
E'lyse as Snow White and the 6 "Dorks" as she called them. We never found Grumpy!

Enjoying crafting at Michael's.
Kiddos on Pajama Day at home. Left to right Faith, E'lyse, Dallas, Coco and Gabby.
Baptism Day! E'lyse and Alan. E'lyse was very excited for this day.
In the van from the Baptism.
E'lyse at her first game to cheer
Told you she loved the camera.
E'lyse hugging her Daddy Dad loves this!
Something surprised her As she always surprises us.
She has always been a good nurse. (Don't hate me Coco) Coco had just had her wisdom teeth pulled and E'lyse helped to hold ice on her mouth.
She has always loved animals, especially dogs. This was at a rodeo in the petting zoo area.
Sure she get's annoyed now and then But don't we all?
But we love her and are so glad to have been blessed with this wonderful, beautiful and sweet daughter in our family.
E'lyse concentrating on the computer screen.
She has a lot of energy and silliness yet a caring heart. We love that kind of spirit in our home. This is E'lyse this morning goofing off in the craft/food storage room.
We love you E'lyse and pray for all the greatness in the world that you deserve. Keep your standards high and dreams alive. Love, Mom

Pink Saturday And Concert Pictures

Happy Pink Saturday to everyone! For my Pink Saturday share I have this:
Last weekend when Coco, Kyle and Talmage went up to Pinetop they went shopping at the LDS book store in Showlow. Coco saw this Pink Scripture case and said it was so me, she had to get it for me. I love it!! Even though it isn't pink the sweet little rabbit that looks like a topiary was a great find at Savers this past week. It is actually a candle. I paid $3.99 for it. It still had the store tag on it.
I forgot to post about Faiths music concert the other week. Life has been to crazy lately. The concert was a mix of singing and the children playing recorders, these are like flutes. I wanted to share a few pictures with you.
Faith is the one in the orange shirt, back row.
Children playing recorders.
Faith and Alan after concert.
Hope you all have a great Pink Saturday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Answer And A Surprise

I had a few people ask where Alan took the girls up fishing on Wednesday. It was Saguaro Lake. They had gone to the river first but no good spots to fish at so they went to the lake.
Since I didn't go get our mail yesterday I went to get my mail this morning on my way to run errands and look what was in my mail box
I love it when I get surprises in the mail. I knew I didn't order anything. This is what I got
A cute little burlap sack with drawstring, a little craft idea booklet and some wonderful scissors. Oh my goodness they cut sweet! On the box it says "Congratulations! You are Fiskateer No. 4191". I am a Fiskateer and get wonderful craft ideas and now this. You can visit this site Fiskateers to sign up. You know the wonderful company Fiskars that makes all the great funky design edged scissors? That is the one that has the Fiskateers. Now let's all sing using the Mickey Mouse tune- FIS- KAT-EER.......S, Fiskateers, Okay enough. I was just so thrilled with my prize. WHOOP!! What crafter wouldn't love new, sharp and fun colored scissors.
Working on plans for next week, I will share these on a later post. I am so ready for the weekend. Alan and Dallas are going up to the girls camp-Camp Laymia, to get things in working order for this summer tomorrow. E'lyse is at a sleep over for her Birthday that is this Sunday. It is date night for Alan and I.
I am not sure what fun I will have tomorrow, guess I will have to wait and see.
Check in for Pink Saturday when I will show a mentioned item earlier this week. Have a wonderful Friday night. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Fishing With Dad

Yesterday after the girls got home from school Alan decided to take them fishing. This is one of Gabby's favorite things to do with dad. The girl loves to fish! As they were driving up Faith remembered that at the field trip yesterday Alan had picked up some pamphlets on wild game and fish. So she got them and was reading about the fish and remembered the names when they caught 2 yellow bass, Alan said she knew what kind they were. Here are the pictures of the girls at the river.Hubby isn't very original with poses!

Looks like Gabby was hungry! They were pretty happy with what they caught. There won't be a fish fry yet I think they will have to go fishing a few more times to have enough for the family. They had fun and got ice cream on the way home. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
