Happy Birthday Dallas

Today is our son Dallas' 16Th Birthday. 16 years ago a sweet little 8lb. & 22 inch long baby boy joined our family.

These are pictures of him at 1 month and at 2 yrs. old. He always has had a easy going spirit and very quick to get over being upset. He use to fall asleep in sacrament until closing song would start then he would just start crying.
Now he just falls asleep until the end. he he
One of the funniest things that happened and he will never live down is when he was 5 years old. He came to the dinner table to eat and all of the sudden he says, " I kissed Brea on the lips, and I LIKED it! " We laughed so hard. This was the neighbors granddaughter he was talking about.

He will be going for his license next week, due to not getting him in to get the permit late. He is growing into such a handsome young man. He is now 125 Lbs. and 5' 11" . He is in training to be a fireman. He has played baseball since he was 7 and loves the game. He no longer has the invisible pitch going either (for those who know what this is.) He has played football in the past but I think his heart belongs to baseball.
The poor guy is constantly surrounded by his 4 sisters. Good training to be a good husband some day. His father picks at him endlessly because he is still a little gullible and it is way to much fun. We love him very much. Happy Birthday BIG-D or Deeder ! This is a picture of Dallas from the 4Th of July. His trademark thumbs up!

Good Bye Oprah

Oprah Blocks Having Sarah Palin on Show . I had heard this on the radio this morning. I had to look it up and decided I will no longer watch her show or buy any of her magazines. What a hypocrite! She has always pushed how wonderful we are as women. Bull honkie! ARG!! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Menu Plan Monday & This Past Weekend

It is Menu Plan Monday with Laura at Organized Junkie. Being that my DH and DS were both to the doctor on Friday evening and the doctor telling them that they needed to change their diets. My DH triglycerides that should be in the healthy range of 0-149 are up over 2000! And the doctor said he was surprised he wasn't having chest pains or sign of pancreatitis due to all the terrible levels of everything else. DS might have high blood pressure. But further blood tests will find this out. So I am taking on the low-fat/diabetic menu. I have to change things around in recipes to do this but the family I am sure will all benefit. So here is my menu:
White Barbecue Chicken
Roasted Potatoes
Corn on the cob

Molasses Pork Tenderloin
Hot Cranberry Apples
Steamed Broccoli

Beef Macaroni Casserole
Beets
Garden Salad

Swedish Meatballs
Rolls
Italian Green Beans (This was suppose to be made last week)

Summer Saute'
Wild Rice

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
Biscuits

This past Saturday DH took DS and 3rd DD to go dove hunting. Well the day was a success. DH and DS got their limit. DD Faith shot her very first animal/dove she was so proud of herself. She isn't real wild about having to touch the dead bird though.

Love the first picture, it just cracks me up!

On Sunday my sweet niece Meredith was down from Colorado for a baby blessing of one of her BIL. She and her wonderful family came over to visit us for a not nearly long enough visit. She is so much fun to talk with her and her hubby JT. My face was sore from laughing so much by the time they left. Meredith you and your family are always welcome at our home! We love you guys!
We had a good time at church feeling the spirit fill our hearts with testimonies that were bared.
So now it is on to another week. I hope to make this a productive one. We have our DS turning 16 on Wed. and getting his licences. Time goes by so fast!
Have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pink Saturday

This is my pink for Pink Saturday at Beverly's blog . The flowers I use for my scrap-booking and other crafts projects. Since I have 4 girls and I LOVE pink myself I have many pink flowers. The paper you see them on is a note book my daughter had made.
Hope you are all having a fun day. I have gone and did a little grocery shopping this morning about 6:00. I had $20 worth of coupons I used on items that I buy for lunches. Alan, Dallas and Faith went dove hunting this morning about 4:30. Everyone else got to sleep in a little bit today. Have a great Pink Saturday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Lunch

I found this website through Cindy's Front Porch . It is a great way to plan out healthy lunches for your children if they go to school or are home schooled. I am thinking of using some of these for myself.

Thursday

This morning I have taken the girls to school and I am heading out to get blood work drawn. EWE! I am not a big fan of needles. When I was testing for the Air Force, my recruiter wanted me to be a nurse. I said no way I can't even watch someone get their ear pierced without getting sick to my stomach. I am such a wimp.

I think there is a yucky something in the air that is making people cranky and just mean.Maybe it is the political debates that are firring people up. So before we go anywhere today let's all take a deep breath and decide to smile no matter what and make someones day good too.

I am going to run a few errands while I am out. I have 2 kiddos with eye doctor appointments tonight and 1 for an exam tomorrow afternoon. This brings me to a question for any of you that have a son age 14-17. Are they always so wishy washy, moody and tired? My DS is usually pretty good with me but lately he has been worrying me. Our Bishop said that my DH and I are doing what we need to and that he has his free agency. I know this it is just making me nuts. Any ideas, suggestions or violins playing for my pity party would be appreciated. Have a great Thursday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I am a little late posting this today. It is time for Leslie's Whatcha Working on Wednesday. Today I was on a search for a messaging center or a control center for our house. This will be where mail is put, phone message, papers to be signed and returned, invitations and such. This is a picture of where I want to put it.

This is the bottom of the stairs where everyone travels daily.
So my DD and I went to Target to check out clearance items. I got to find a bargain or I am not going to buy it!
We won't go into great detail of what happen in the parking lot, I was attacked verbally. May I say I handled it like a lady should. Okay now we didn't find what I wanted on that wall. In my mind I am picturing a center that doesn't look like a doctors office but a pretty yet effective useful spot. Something with a place for letters and possibly a little table below it. So we (DD and I), decided to go to Ross. I went in and found some really cute items for fall and Halloween. I will show you pictures in a little bit. I go to the back of the store for home furnishings and found this:
Of course I will paint it to be an attractive feature of my house. We go to the front of the store to check out and I put the item on the counter and notice this:
This is the bottom of the letter station. It is a small corner pedestal about 1/4 of an inch. Using my Dave Ramsey Big Bargain move I said Oh this is missing how much can you give me off on this? Well the station was $18.99 and he gave me $3.99 off for that. YEAH!! It worked. So here is the rest of the items I got for a bargain mind you:

I love having a seasonal Cocoa cup so I found this fun one, the two painted mache boxes will look cute on a shelf for Halloween, the Thanksgiving Pumpkin I had seen on a web site for almost 3 times as much as I paid for it. For the fall season it will be turned around up on a shelf to decorate. And the last item the pretty little single tea pot with almost embossed flower on it was just too dainty for me to pass up for my evening tea.
I need to go and patch up some little girls jeans and fix a shirt for my son. I am also planning on working on one of my projects for Christmas.
I will post pictures of what I finish when I am done. Go to Leslie's and post what you are doing. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Talmage, Tuesday, This & That

The typical Talmage face! Too Cute!
Talmage munching on some treats.

Today is Tuesday. There wasn't much accomplished for me yesterday it seemed as the day went on. I think there has been a little sick bug in our home and is taking it's turn on us. My DD Coco has been under the weather along with her sweet little Talmage. Even Coco's sweet hubby has felt a little yucky too. As you can see from the pictures above Talmage is doing better today. So glad for that & Coco seems better too. Today was Kyle's first day at the Academy. It is really mean what they do to the guys. He has been working nights from 2 to 10 and then all of the sudden he has to be there by 5:00 ish am and is to spend 10 hour days. I think Kyle will be glad to be back home this evening after being up late last night & getting up so early this morning.
Yesterday being Labor Day is the traditional Dove Hunting for those who want to go & have a license, in our family. Alan took out Dallas and Faith to go. They didn't have a lot of luck though. Later in the day Alan, Dallas, Elyse and Kyle went to the Diamond Backs baseball game. We won!! I would have gone but due to the new medications I don't want to be gone too far from home. he he

Last night we didn't have our cookout till late. We ate inside due to it was still a little warm and dark. Maybe next year a traditional Labor Day cook out? If I can figure out what that is. LOL
I don't normally go into politics on my blog even though I do voice my opinion in public, but I would like to say if you have read my profile you know I am a Staunch Conservative Republican and a Rush Baby.

Now to the point, I am so pleased that Sen. McCain has picked Gov.Sarah Palin. From everything that I have studied and heard she is a woman with great values and is showing it as each day goes by with the choices she makes. I have a good bit in common with her. She has become my new person to add to people I look up to, that list isn't very long by the way.
So back to not doing a bunch today but enjoying every minute of it. I have gotten my chores done, dinner planned and happy.

Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Fall ?? Maybe

I like the thought of this being the first day of September. Although the kiddos have started school a month ago could it be that fall is on the way? Maybe....hmmm it didn't even hit 100 degrees today. So I check on the Internet and the weather report is up to 102 tomorrow. Guess no fall yet! Pooh! I am not going to let this deter me from getting in the Autumnal mood. I will be decorating this week with my fall decor and working on Christmas gifts. Fall is my favorite time of the year and I so miss the changing leaves, the nip in the air and the getting ready for winter. Sniff Sniff I miss the White Mountains. I think I need to get away. Have a great evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
