Extreme Makeover: Me Edition

Today is Wednesday and time for Extreme Makeover: Me Edition. You can check over at {aefilkins} blog to see what everyone who participates are doing. Today's question is :

Share with us some of your vacation survival strategies
I didn't too good with this on my last trip but I will share what I know is a good plan.
If possible make your menu ahead of time. Even better would be to take your food with you including snacks. This makes temptation less likely to hit. Always have water with you and drink, drink, drink.

I am doing pretty good. I haven't missed a workout. I just love getting on the treadmill with my iPod and cruising. I also have been doing my upper body and lower body weight work outs.
I haven't been getting enough sleep. I am feeling it so I will be working harder to get the rest that I need.
Eating is okay not perfect and I need to concentrate on clean or naked eating. This doesn't mean that I eat naked although that could motivate me to not eat so much. Eww! Not!
These will be the things I work on this week. I will be over to check out how everyone is doing.

When we go on vacation I always pack my breakfast (Special K bars) so I at least know I am in control of one meal. It seems like breakfast is one of the most calorie laden vacation meals thanks to sausage, gravy, biscuits, bacon...etc. Hope you are having a great day!

Packing meals is a great way to stick to healthier eating on the road. I think we are going to try this for our upcoming trip.

We would sit on our roof top and watch the fireworks from Schnepf Farms, too. They put on a great show. Hope you get that custom pink bike your after one of these days!

You know you might be onto something with the naked eating...I bet if I was sitting looking at my belly...I would snack a lot less!

Great job on the working out...I'm starting to crave exercise! I love it!

having a bag with healthy snacks is a great idea. I still seem to crave chocolate on any trip I go on though...but I do that at hometoo. lol

way to go on that treadmill! keep up the great work!

Great idea on planning ahead your meals for vacations! I always bag up healthy snacks and water - otherwise I am tempted to tell the hubby "hey, let's hit that drive thru at McDonalds" - LOL!

I'm spending the week at the beach next week so I plan to ring my own fruits and veggies, turkey burgers (to throw on the grill) and other healthy foods.
We will dine out while we're there (we do at home too..hehe) But I'll do my best to make wise choices and eat sensible portions. :)
It sounds like you're doing great work so all the best in keeping it up!
