Family Home Evening Fun in The Desert

Monday evening for our Family Home Evening we went out to the desert (where there are areas to shoot guns legally.) and did some shooting.
The photographer (ME) didn't get each of the girls as they shot (LAME O).
This is as we were headed out

When we got to the area the girls were doing some scouting for object to shoot at and exploring the area.

I found a varmit call in Alan's truck ( Doesn't everyone have a varmit call in their vehicle ?)
So E'lyse starting using it and making music.
Shortly there after the girls started dancing to it
Gabby came over and joined in

FHE on Sunday Night and Monday Night

Sunday night Coco, Kyle and Talmage came over to have Family Home Evening. Coco and Kyle brought over their WII. We did a lot of laughing for a couple of hours. This is the family portrait.
Okay it is just some of us. Dallas is the one in the green shirt upper right. Looks just like him. he he
Kyle and Gabby boxed. Talmage cheered everyone on.
Faith and Gabby did yoga for a while. Talmage had fun trying to join in with his own little WII run while his mom & dad ran against each other.
crawling over Dad gum (Alan) . I think he tired grandpa out though. Soon after this Dad gum (aka Grandpa, Alan) fell asleep and Coco decided it would be fun to paint her Dad's fingernails. She only did the left hand, but it was really too creepy for my sweetie to have my pink nail polish on his hand. Talmage thought this was just wrong in every way.
Talmage was worn out from all the action and fell asleep in my arms. I put him on a pillow on the floor and he slept till it was time to go home.
After we got done playing we had treats. I made these brownies with walnuts. The left side was left for the two kiddos that don't like nuts in theirs.
Coco and Kyle asked if I would watch Talmage while they went on a date. The girls danced and sang to entertain Talmage. He came to me and wanted up so we danced around the living room too. He looks like his is thinking we are all nuts! And he is right but we have fun.
When it was time to wined down we watched Elmo. This is Gabby holding Talmage Then Gabby was pretending to cut his hair. He loves his hair to be played with. He grew tired of that an went off to play with his toys.
My dog who is an older dog Nellie loves to just observe Talmage just stayed at the side watching us play. She is an Australian Shepard /Border Collie. She is also the other Queen of the house and she loves her belly rubbed.
She is such a good dog.
So that was my Sunday and Monday night. They have fun! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

FHE FUN

Monday night was family home evening. I wasn't sure what I was going plan being that it took me all day to get Christmas decor down. I normally don't do this till New Years Day but (too long of a story) I decided to do that on Monday. Coco called and invited us to go see the Arizona Temple lights. If you live in Arizona it is a site to see. We usually go every year. So I told Alan when he got home and we thought this would be fun to do. We left shortly after dark to head to see the lights. We had to go pick up Dallas at the mall first. Oh wait we forgot to eat dinner. Actually we decided that we could pick up something on the way. So we met up with Coco, Kyle and Talmage at Chick Fillet. We had a good dinner and it was great to hang out and talk. If you don't know this on the kids meal you can trade in the unopened toy for ice-cream. E'lyse and I were sitting across from each other at the table and I told her I wanted to go see if they would except one of their table promotion clocks to trade in for ice-cream. (it was really cute it had a cow in a bathrobe, slippers and rollers on a clock, this is a cardboard thing display.) I told her she could use the plant. We didn't sweet Alan went up and got us an ice-cream cone. OH MY YUMMINESS! It tasted like my mom's homemade ice-cream.
After finishing dinner we went to the Temple. The lights are amazing! I am always in awe over the time that is put into these lights and the wonderful manger set up with narration. While we were there we ran into Janel & Mark Lamb who are in our ward and she is the pretty lady I wrote about in THIS post . After talking with them for a while, probably too long I love to talk we started walking a little further and met up with Alan
s niece Lorette and her hubby Dave Haynes. We talked with them for a while too. It is so good to catch up with family and friends when you have time to visit. Then we walked around a little bit more and then it was getting close to them shutting off all the lights and we headed out to the van. We are leaving and run into a few more people we know and talked with them for a short period of time. We piled into the van and headed home. Then we stopped for some hot chocolate. Alan, Dallas and E'lyse went in to get it and the little girls and I stayed in the van. We had a nice soothing hot chocolate ride home. Okay it wasn't that cold out but the hot chocolate was good.
Got home way too late and to bed way way too late. But so glad we went it was fun being together at one of the most peaceful places on earth.
Today I have been getting ready for the New Year. Took the kiddos to get their personal items and a few groceries for the family. It was a good time too.
The rest of the day the girls have been riding scooters, playing games, watching TV and a little bit of reading, with Dallas playing his new guitar hero. I have enjoyed
today.
I am curious of what people spend on their groceries? Do you divide your paper products and such from the food and what do you spend? I would love to hear from you all. Have a great Tuesday night. Oh Housewives of the OC is on. Not sure if I will stay up or watch the rerun tomorrow. Hmmm.... probably should watch it tomorrow and get some sleep tonight. Hope you are all ready for a fun New Year. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

FHE & Pin The Feathers on The Turkey

Last night for our Family Home Evening we had a really good lesson on a Thankful Heart and Being Happy. It entailed that if we are resentful and bitter we can not be happy. So true don't you think.
I loved this quote that I printed out for everyone to keep in their scriptures is this,"Those who live in thanksgiving daily, however, are usually among the world's happiest people. And they make others happy." This just hits so close to home. I know way to many people ( okay family members ) who are this way. Anyway I wanted to share pictures of the game and our treat. The game was kind of a last minute idea so no laughing at my lame Turkey. I made a big Turkey who was featherless so we had to get blindfolded and pin the feathers on him. Dallas would pick up those who he could and spin them to make them dizzy. This just made it even funnier. When it was my turn Dallas took the top tape off of the picture and I ended up hanging the feathers on the wall. Alan brought home some doughnuts for our treat.

We had a lot of fun with this. So I am going to do Put the Ornament on the Christmas Tree for a December FHE. I just love how much laughing there was. Have a fun Tuesday.
Just to let you all know the color Black has won for my great garage sale chair. And more news there is suppose to be a storm moving in for Thanksgiving. YEAH!!!! I am so happy.

To Be A Kid & FHE

Conversation between Gabby and me a few minutes ago. She walks in the craft room.
Gabby: Hi mommy!
Me: Hi Gab.
Gabby: I just came in from outside.
Me: Oh yea, what were you doing?
Gabby: I climbed on the swing bar. I hung upside down for a while.
Me: Why did you do that?
Gabby: I just needed to think.
Me: About what?
Gabby: I don't know.
Oh to be a kid again.
Having FHE tonight, a lesson on being thankful to tie into Thanksgiving. I know it was a stretch. After the first part of the lesson I am having everyone write on a piece of paper what they are thankful for. They will get 2 minutes to do this. I will then turn this into a tree for our dining room for Thanksgiving. I have to admit the thankful idea was Coco's but I want to do the tree. I haven't been very crafty today so I need to do something fun. Have a great evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo
