Evening Of Excellence

Every year the wards in our church hold an Evening Of Excellence
This years theme was "The Temple The Happiest Place On Earth"
This is to spotlight each girl on her personal progress.
Each girl is to pick out a value and do a 10 hour project on that value.
They have to have it approved by one of the leaders, then do the project and pass it off.
This night they make displays explaining with examples of what they did.
I am a LAME O mom I didn't take pictures of the girls projects. Sorry!!
This is the refreshment table
Center pieces on the tables with a picture of a princess and a poem
 This was the table for the 5 girls who received their Young Women recognition medallions;
E'lyse was one of the girls. No picture of this too.
I didn't feel it an appropriate time to take a picture.

This is why you don't let a 14 yr.old take off with your camera.
You never know what your going to get.
It was a beautiful evening. So proud of all the girls.

Evening Of Excellence

On Tuesday night was our wards Evening Of Excellence. Young Women in Excellence is a great opportunity to celebrate the Personal Progress achievements of the young women in your ward and encourage them to remain strong as they face life’s challenges.

It was beautifully decorated and a fun night.

 What is Personal Progress?

Purpose of Personal Progress

Personal Progress will help you strengthen your faith in and testimony of Jesus Christ as you learn His teachings and regularly apply them in your life. It will help you strengthen both your present family and your future family. It will help you prepare to make and keep sacred covenants and receive the ordinances of the temple. And it will prepare you to be a faithful, contributing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Personal Progress program uses the eight Young Women values to help you understand more fully who you are, why you are here on the earth, and what you should be doing as a daughter of God to prepare for the day you go to the temple to make sacred covenants. It will help you prepare for your future roles as a faithful woman, wife, mother, and leader in God’s kingdom. Participating in Personal Progress teaches you to make commitments, carry them out, and report your progress to a parent or leader. The patterns you establish as you work on Personal Progress—such as prayer, scripture study, service, and journal keeping—will become personal daily habits. These habits will strengthen your testimony and help you learn and improve throughout your life.

Evening of Excellence

On Tuesday night our ward had the Young Woman's Evening of Excellence program. This is for girls ages 12 to 17. This is a time the girls are noticed for the remarkable people they are. Ahead of time they have different values that they work on and have it on display to share with the families.
