Weekend Recap (Warning-Long Post!)

On Saturday I woke up at 6:20, got to sleep in, After getting myself ready for the day I got to work on things that needed to be done. Alan and Dallas were gone hunting, E'lyse was at her sleepover and Faith & Gabby were home with me. I had them clean their
bedrooms when they got up and ready. I painted a few things:
to this
I white washed a basket, painted a tin thing, not sure what it is called:
and this
I painted my board that didn't get done last Wednesday
now this My TV now has a pink place to sit.
I hung up my signs that were waiting for hubby to do and the rest of the day I worked organizing, cleaning and having a good time till 7:45. I can't believe how much I got done. It felt good to look around and see things in their place.
SUNDAY SCOOP
With this past week everyone being busy and not having much time together as a family and the weather being overcast it was a perfect day for a ride. We didn't go to church but the family time together was so wonderful and fun for all of us. We invited Coco and Talmage to go with us since Kyle has to work Sundays. We loaded up my van and headed up to the snow country. Here in the valley it is so rare that it snows and I miss it so much from living up north that I was very excited about it. Here are some pictures of our day. The kiddos loaded in the van for the trip-Front: Coco, Talmage, Dallas. Back: E'lsye, Gabby and Faith.
This is the road on the way out of the valley-
All of the sudden we hit this-. Love the clouds lingering over the hills. So we drive along and and back to this. No this is not out of order this is the way Arizona is- Girls in cattle cage. he he Potty brake for the boys. Talmage loved being able to stand up on his own.
. So we went further and further up into what is called the rim. About a half hour later we came to snow again. We stopped and ate then drove a little further for those who know Arizona we went past the beautiful town of Strawberry to find this- Beautiful!
We got to a great spot that there was nobody else around and everyone got out and got snow gear on-.
This is Coco and Talmage. Talmage loves the snow and he seemed so happy to be there. This is Alan and me. I had on two layers of long sleeve shirts and my big bulky coat it was kind of hard to snoogle for picture with Alan.
Snowball fight in the making-

Alan and Talmage. Talmage catching snow flakes.

Gabby with snow beard.

Faith a bundled up.

E'lyse being a typical teenager.

Dallas trying to look distinguished he he. He is growing back his beard for MORP. He and his date are going to be Beauty and the Beast.
Coco and Talmage enjoying the falling snow-

Snow dump- Yeah a piggy back ride. Dallas tells E'lsye is going to dump her in the snow. Love the look on her face!
There they go. SLAM!
Dallas trying to get away fast!
The building of the snowman. The older kiddos were tired out so Faith, Gabby and Alan built our snowman-

He is a Diamond Backs fan just like the rest of the family! Then it was time to go home-.
Alan driving.
Talmage and doughnuts Talmage was having fun learning he could suck on his toes.
It was a good trip. On the way home they had the highway closed due to a fatality accident . So we had to turn around and go through a different way that took another 2 and a half hours to get home. So we got home after 10 . Everyone was tired and ready for bed.
I know this post was long but so many fun pictures to share and believe me there are many more that I won't post. I took 334 pictures!
Have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Homemaker Mondays and Menu Plan Mondays

Homemaker Mondays
This is simple but I don't think most women get it till maybe they are a little older like me. We need to take a little time each day to take care of our selves. Now this can be a simple thing of doing a hobby for 15 to 20 min each day. For me it has recently became taking time to take care of my health with exercising each morning. This is turn has me eating better and feeding my family better. I see changes in me not just physically but mentally. I love it! This little bit of time each day to spend time on me pays off big time for the family. I can give more, do more and feel good about it all.

Pink Saturday

A little late in the day for my post I got busy cleaning and I forgot to post! OOPS!
Happy Pink Saturday ! For my Pinks this week I wanted to share these:
This is a sweet little frame I found at the dollar store for my craft room. I haven't found the right picture for it yet.
This is one thing there never seems an end to with a house of mostly girls (along with Bobby Pins)
Last but not least one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. Hubby bought this for me about 5 years ago. It is so ME!
Stayed up a little too late last night. Hubby and Dallas went out of town for some fun hunting guy time. E'lyse spent the night at a friends house. Faith, Gabby and I went to Coco, Kyle and Talmages house to watch "Madagascar 2" last night. Well, Faith, Gabby and Kyle watched it, Talmage went to bed and Coco and I watched some shows on TLC and laughed. Had a good time! We were very tired when we got home but baths still had to be done, scripture reading and prayer.
My plans for the day while the boys are still gone is organizing things around the house that are absolutely driving the queen nuts! And believe me it isn't a long drive. he he
Alan is taking the two younger girls to a Daddy Daughter dance tonight at their school so I have a lot to get done before they get home.
Hope you all have a great Pink Saturday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

America, The Beautiful Concert

Tonight Gabby along with the rest of the Third Grade class had a concert called "America, The Beautiful".
Before we left Gabby asked if I would take a picture of her as her newly invented character "Bob the Butler". I don't know why she came up with it but here it is.
That is a mustache she made taped to her upper lips.
She said she wanted to make people laugh so she wore it to the school.
Here is the group that sang.
Here is a closer one of Gabby she is next to the microphone in the red and blue jumper dress with the white blouse under it.
She did a good job on her speaking part too. Great job Gabby we are proud of you.
I am still feeling under the weather. Argg I hate not feeling good I just want me energy back and be able to do all the things on my daily list. I have been this way since last Saturday night. Oh well, I am looking forward to going to bed at a decent time tonight so I can hopefully feel better in the morning. Have a great evening. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Year Anniversary and Whatcha Working On Wednesday

This time a year ago today I was just starting my little blog. I have posted 309 times. I don't know if that is normal or not but I have had fun. My plan is to turn this into a book I just haven't gotten it all together yet. Thank you Meredith for letting me know you can do that through Blogspot. Coco thank you for all your help after me pestering you to change my headers for me so they would fit my personality. You know me well!
And to all of you wonderful people who read my blog and leave me comments sweet ones and the not so sweet I think it is a great place to make friends that you might never meet in person but you can still have a friendship with them. I have met so many wonderful people and what great information on the different blogs for every personality that there is out there. Thank you to you all. I sound like I won an Academy award. he he I just have grown to love so many of you.
Whatcha Working On Wednesday:
First thing this morning after everyone is off for there day I will do my workout. I am then going to get some chicken and a couple other items that are on sale at Fry's for my freezer.
I have this to paint today: I'm Board!!! he he
Alan made this for me last night, he cut it out and put on the nice clean edging. I have to paint it to match my filing cabinet. This will go on top of the cabinet to place the TV on it in my craft room. I sometimes listen to the political channel while in there.
Then I have these to file in the cabinet: EEEK! This pile make me sick. People like to put all their (Faith and Gabby) papers from school in my craft room. I have a bunch of sorting to do and throwing away. It will be nice to have the area organized.
By the time I get these items done, 3 loads of wash and dinner made the girls will be home from school. They have early release every Wednesday, I wish it was Friday instead.
Hope you all have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Monday In Review, Blog Find and Tuesday

Monday morning Alan took Dallas to school. He has O-hour so he has to be at school by 6:20. On the way Dallas had stuck his phone between his legs to get his backpack organized and jumped out as soon as he got to the school. Forgetting about his phone until his 3rd hour he went back to where he got dropped off and this is what he found. OH NO!! He was with out a phone till late afternoon.

This morning as I was reading through my comments I had received a comment from another lady that wears the royal crown her name is Lynn.
Her blog is called Queen Of The Castle Recipes . What a fantastic name! Lynn has so many wonderful recipes on her blog.
She is also an author of a book called " Queen Of The Castle". I have just ordered it. I am very excited to read it. Please check out her blog. I have been printing out recipes like crazy!

Guess what I am doing today? I get to watch this sweet little guy.
Kyles parents are in town and they are going to take a tour of his work place. JAIL!! Coco didn't want to take Talmage and I can't blame her. So he and I are hanging out to day. This little bench with the animals on it is one I bought at Michaels a while back and it is the perfect size for him to sit on or put stuffed animals on.
While watching him I have wash to do. I started dinner in the crock and have rolls rising right now.
Hope you all have a great day. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Ground Hog Day-Homemaker Mondays and Menu Plan Mondays

Just one more wave!!!

Phil Says "Six More Weeks of Winter!"

Phil's official forecast as read February 2nd, 2009 at sunrise at Gobbler's Knob:

Hear Ye Hear Ye

On Gobbler's Knob this glorious Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2009

Punxsutawney Phil, Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators

Awoke to the call of President Bill Cooper

And greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths

After casting a joyful eye towards thousands of his faithful followers,

Phil proclaimed that his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were World Champions one more time

And a bright sky above me

Showed my shadow beside me.

So 6 more weeks of winter it will be.

Okay now on to Homemaker Monday
My tip for Homemaker Monday is to pack lunches for the family the night before. Meat and cheese sandwiches can be made and frozen ahead of time. The trick is to use Miracle Whip not mayo. Place the sandwiches in the lunch sack or box and by lunch time it will be thawed.

Menu Plan Monday

Garlic Bread
Green Beans

Hamburgers, Hot dogs and Brats
Prok n beans
Pasta Salad
Chips

Dijon Baked Chicken w/Rice
Cucumbers w/ Ranch dip

Crunchy Orange Curried Chicken
Salad
Spinach

Slow cooker Roast
Mash potatoes w/gravy
Cauliflower

Date Night

Linguine with Vegetables and Sauce
