Whatcha Working on Wednesday

I am very late checking in on this Whatcha Working on Wednesday. I have been doing the usual home blessings (chores) and went to get the deals at Fry's this morning. I bought these
The steaks are for a date night. Yeah love cheap date nights!! Ant I bought these
And these.
Woo Hoo pasta and toilet paper. What more could a gal want?
I got these so I can a be one of the coolest grandmas in the world to my little grandson! he he
The total came to $353.44. I had $41.53 in coupons, and the store card savings and some VIP card savings the total of coupons came to $160.31 so I ended spending $193.13 on the groceries . I have enough, Q-tips, pickles, deodorant and pasta now for the rest of the year then some. I had coupons that needed filed and other items to take care of this afternoon.
Dallas has been working on a TV stand for a free TV he got last night I have gone out to help hold and cut wood throughout the day when I was here . The picture on it is great and he loves having a bigger TV in his room. LOL (Thanks again Janel!)
So off I go to keep myself busy.
Hope you all have a great afternoon. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

I Heard Angels Singing and Cook Out

Yesterday while shopping at Wal-Mart I came across this (Coco will be so jealous!!)
It is made by I was very excited to find they were reasonably priced. So I bought one, got home and Dallas helped to put it together. It was a snap literally snaps together easily. I placed it on my shelf and loaded it with can and I swear I heard angles singing! Look how great this is: Now I need many more for my food storage. But I figure do a little each week and soon I will be so organized everyone will want to come and be amazed. he he
Last night we had Alan's brother Tom, his sweet & beautiful wife Denise,
(Tom and Denise)
Kyle, Coco, Talmage and Dallas' girlfriend Sarah over for a cook out. Well Alan didn't get home early like he said he would ARG! I know no big shock to anyone that knows my sweet hubby. While he was getting his shower Faith sang a solo for all of us. We don't have a big enough picnic table so we ate inside. We pulled chairs from the different rooms so everyone could sit down. We had a good time with a lot of old stories of Alan and Tom's childhood antics. This was the first time for me to meet Denise and she is a very lovely person. She is very soft spoken with a wonderful Brazillion acent. I was a little worried she would think we are all nuts due to we ARE!! Had a great time visiting though. The little girls just love when Uncle Tom comes to see them. He gives them full attention and watches and listens to all they have to say. So glad they were able to come out and visit.
Coco, Kyle and Talmage had just got back in town from a visit to Pinetop and they brought Talmages new set of wheels with them:
This car is really cool it has a push handle on it. Dallas was pushing Talmage all through the kitchen, dinning area and the great room and turning corners with great sound effects Talmage had a blast as you can see by the smile on his sweet little face.
Thank you family for being so great! I love all of you!!
Oh I got a wonderful surprise from Coco when they got to our house but I will share that with you on Saturday. Can you guess what it is?
Have a great Tuesday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Homemaking Mondays and Menu Plan Monday

First of all thank you for all the well wishes from so many of you sweet gals. I am doing better with almost 3 days of off and on sleeping I am on the mend. A special thank you goes out to Janel, my sweet friend who brought me over yummy chicken soup with biscuits and some great chocolate chip cookies! That was so wonderful of you to do that for me. Big smile on my face and a happy tummy!!
I need to feel much better we are having a cook out tonight with Alan's brother and his wife (they are in town from Georgia) plus Coco, Kyle and Talmage all over. I need to run to the store and do some cooking today along with the usual daily chores.
Homemaking Monday: My homemaking idea for this week is to learn how to do something new this week. Something that can benefit your family. Maybe learn to sew, make homemade bread or even learn about couponing(not sure if it is a word but I think it should be!) from a friend who is good at this. There are many sources to learn new things. I am the type to watch and learn how to do something so I am learning how to knit from videos . There are a lot of videos on You Tube to learn how to do things or even ask a friend to teach you something they are good at or know how to do. Don't let your brain go stale teach it something new.

Menu Plan Monday: Organized Junkie has Menu Plan Monday every week. You can join in on the fun! Some of the recipes will be on my kitchen blog a little later today.
  • Hamburgers/Hot dogs/ Brats
  • Pasta Salad
  • Chips/Dip
  • Tex-Mex Pasta Skillet
  • Steamed Broccoli
  • Hash Brown Soup
  • Salad
  • Waldorf Salad
  • Spinach Lasagna
  • Leftover Salad
  • Italian Bread
  • Quiche Laraine in a Bag
  • Buttermilk Biscuits
  • Green Grapes
  • Date Night
Have a great Monday! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Late Pink Saturday and Sad

Happy Pink Saturday VERY late! I wanted to share this lollipop that Coco got me for a surprise! She saw it and said, "That is so my mom!" and she bought it. Thank you Coco!!
I have been very sick the past 2 days. I have slept a lot and watch a little TV. My body is very sore and I hurt everywhere. I haven't had a stomach ache or any other symptoms than a high fever.
Tonight Alan's family is having a party with a magic show and I am missing it. The family left a while ago and it was sad to see everyone leave.
Well back to bed for me I'm going to go watch the movie "Send Me No Flowers", with Doris Day and Rock Hudson. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

What I Got Done Wednesday

I though I would do a follow up about my Wednesday. I started wash and left for my deal shopping at Fry's I spent $99.26. I had $25.14 in coupons and saved $107.32. It averaged out to be 51% savings. I was very happy with what I got. I meant to take a picture of it but got all the meat and items put away when I remembered. he he
I also went to Walgreen's I needed some hair coloring (for my dog) and it was on sale originally $7.99 for $2.99 and I found these on sale: Can't wait to see how absorbent they are. And of course no one has spilt anything! Is spilt a proper word?
I got home and switched over the wash and started another load. Noticing as I was walking downstairs that the stairs needed a good vacuuming. So I started upstairs and vacuumed down the stairs, the tile and after I moved the boxes I vacuumed the great room. I continued into the dinning area and the kitchen to do edging and vacuuming all the tile and into the craft room. Then I finished moving the food storage boxes from this spot.
I moved the food storage boxes from here: This table is being painted to put in my entry way.
To here in my craft room:
After this I had a friend show up with some major problems and needed someone to talk to and so I didn't get the items put away in the garage that was planned. But she really needed help. So we will see what I can get done today.
My ears are doing better thank you for all the well wishes from you all. It makes me feel not so bad when my head is killing me!
Just came across this great article on Modern Molly Mormon .
This article is so great for those of us who struggle loving ourselves the way we are. Myself being overweight and not liking the way I look or feel is a big issue that this article addresses. It is not just for us LDS gals. It is a wonderful reminder of us being daughters of our Heavenly Father. He loves us no matter what!
Hope you all have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

Today is Whatcha Working on Wednesday over at Leslie's blog My Country Home. You should go check out the cute little prim bunnies she made, the girl is talented.
So for my work today will include the usual chores cleaning house and 6 loads of wash. The girls got new bedding for Christmas so their old bedding needs washed and put away and all of their blankets that they use, and clothing that was worn this past week . I am going to hit the great sale at Fry's first thing this morning. Then coming home and work on moving these boxes from my living room to the craft room.
This is where the new floor to ceiling shelves will be (hopefully very soon!!) .
Then I need to work on this: Hubby got some items for our year supply and I have tubs of our food storage that need to find a home inside. It is getting into the 90's here and food doesn't not do well in the heat of the garage. So now you can see why I need my shelves built very soon.
With these two bigger tasks I will be pushing myself to get them done. My head is killing me due to the earaches but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.
Hope you all have a productive day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Happy Square Root Day-Be a Square

Today it is Square Root Day 3-3-09! This happens every 9 years. Now I have to figure something that we are having on the menu to make square to celebrate. Hubby had just heard this on his way to work and knows how I love to celebrate random days. I am just weird that way. So Happy Square Root Day!! So go be a square! Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Pink Dolphin

E'lyse just ran down stairs to tell me what she heard on the radio. Knowing my love of pink she thought I would enjoy this.

Homemaking Mondays and Menu Plan Mondays and Weekend Recap

Homemaking Mondays: My tip for today is for the garbage disposal. I admit I don't like these things. They are just gross but if you have to have them you might as well use them and take care of them. You can buy special cleaners at the grocery store but these can get pricey. So if you are frugal like me buy a lemon or two. Slice one up turn your water on and the disposal on and toss a few pieces in the disposal and it will help to kill any bad odors and clean it out a bit. If you don't want to buy lemons use a solution of baking soda (1/2 cup) and the water, run through the disposal to clear odors and clean it. Make sure you use plenty of water to wash it all down.

Menu Plan Mondays:

Baked Chicken Parmesan
Creamed Peas
Garlic Toast

Waffles
Grits Bacon
Cantaloupe

Crockpot Beef Casserole
Spaghetti Squash
Beans
Rolls

Cheeseburger Soup
Homemade Biscuits
Homemade Applesauce

Homemade Deep Dish Pizza
Salad
Baked Bananas

Date Night

On Saturday I got all of the food storage buckets moved out of my craft room. Remember I had painted the little girls bedroom last week this is a shot from the door. The beds aren't made . Their Barbie houses that we made them Christmas of 2007 are at the foot of the beds.

Alan made these platforms for the mattresses to sit on, they have a lip so they don't slip. Here is an up-close picture of it. I still have to make the skirts for them so you can't see the buckets.
Then on Saturday Coco said we should paint E'lyses bedroom so we can get her bed made up too. So she and I painted then Kyle came over and helped too. This is E'lyses room. She picked out all the colors with Coco.
I want to make headboards for the beds but I am so thrilled to have these beds done. I still have curtains to buy or make, quilts to make for Faith and Gabby's beds, and book cases to find on sale for the bedrooms but they are looking good.
Most of these buckets weigh 45lbs. and I have to say thank you to Dallas, Mike (Dallas's friend), Kyle and Alan for moving the 54 buckets up the stairs and into the rooms. I also would like to thank Coco for the motivation to get this project crossed off my long list. And Alan for all his hard work and my silly ideas. Now we need to start on the floor to ceiling shelves for can food storage in my craft room. he he
After working all day Saturdayday I got really sick with a major temperature and feeling awful. I was so sick I slept till 10:57 Sunday morning. Normally I am up by 5 or 5:30 on the weekends. I only woke up because E'lyse was knocking on my door. I slept a good portion of Sunday. Not sure if I have an inner or outer ear infection. I have symptoms of both so I have two antibiotics for my ears one for inner and the other for outer, I just want to get better. I am still tired today but I have so much to get done so I will work and rest off and on throughout the day.
Have a great Monday. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

2 Awards

Much to my surprise as I got on my blog this morning to catch up on what I have missed all weekend I found out that sweet Janice at One Day at a Time has given me two wonderful awards. The first is the Lemonade award. When I first read this I thought maybe it was a not so flattering award that maybe my RANTS were just sour. he he Then I read what it was for. Janice made some lemonade for herself, put her feet up and enjoyed drinking while she worked on her posts. I think I am going to follow her lead and make some strawberry lemonade to read posts.
The second award is Star Commenter. Janice thank you for your sweet comment about me on this one. I am suppose to be a blog stalker but I always leave comments. he he Thank you so much Janice for these wonderful awards.
Now I get the privilege of passing on these awards to a few of my blogging friends that I enjoy visiting. I don't want anyone to get hurt feelings about not getting one of these from me. There are so many wonderful bloggers that deserve these. Here are those that I pass this on to.

I have to give the star Commenter and the Lemonade Award to:
Coco at The Lucas Gang She is not only my daughter but a wonderful person and friend. She leaves me fun comments and makes me laugh.

Savannah at More Ham and Cheese Please!!! for both awards also. She always leaves the nicest comments for me and a very fun blog to read.

Meredith at The Hammond Zoo for the Lemonade Award (She doesn't comment much on my blog). She has a fun blog and I enjoy reading it. She is living my life but with boys!

Risa at Diva In the Midwest for both awards. She is a sweet gal who is always uplifting with her comments and thoughts on her posts.

Connie at Living Beautifully for both awards. She is a lovely lady that always brightens my day.

Janel at Janellybellys World for both awards. She is my mentor for my weight loss journey and leaves me uplifting comments.

Last but certainly not least Janice at One Day at a Time . I know she was the one who gave this to me but she is such a sweetheart. I wish I could have met her before she moved away. I think we could have been very close friends. So we will just be blogging friends.
Have a great day! Hugs, Bobbi Jo
