Veterans Day

Thank you to all of those great people who have served are serving and will be serving for our great country. My father served in the Merchant Marines, my Father in Love served in the US Air Force and at this time I have 2 nephews who are serving in the Marines and Army. I love this country and I am so proud of our military.
This morning on Channel 3 news here in the valley of never ending sun E'lyse was on TV with the dance/singing group she is in. I didn't go so I didn't get to get pictures there but watched her along with the rest of the family as they sang God Bless the USA. She and a few of her friends from the group "Sun Shine Generation" came by so I could get a couple pictures. There were more in the group but they didn't tag along. So here they are: E'lyse, Ashton, John and Alice. John looks a little scared! They did a good job. I was very proud of all of them.

Then I wanted to share with you this picture of the turkey my little girls made. They had made all the fixings for a Thanksgiving dinner out of paper and craft items. But had the turkey being still alive because they thought is was funny. I think he is funny too! His name is Tom. When we lived in Pinetop we were raising turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas. But the Thanksgiving turkey, named Tom, met a great tragedy with a black bear breaking into his cage. Boy was I mad! Anyway I guess this is the girls way of paying homage to dear old TOM.

Fall Crafts & Cutie

Today I am feeling a little under the weather but I really wanted to work on something crafty today. My daughter found this project a couple of weeks ago at Cherry's Jubilee crafty little blog. So I decided I would make my own but with the fall leaf. You can read how it is made on her great blog.
This is my Leaf.
When I was done with this I was still wanting to make something else so I searched around Blog Land. I came upon another delightful post that had to do with decorating an entry table and I lost it! ARG! I loved what I saw and this is what I came up with, very similar to the blog post that I saw. I found it it is Blissfully Domestic . Great site!
You use newspaper for this one. Love it!
Then last but not least. This little guy makes me smile every time I look at him with his big smile and giggles. If all my kiddos were as easy going as he is I would have had 20.

Bringham Where is your beard?

Meredith check this out. Dallas came down to leave for school and guess what ? It was gone. He has no more beard! He no longer looks like Bringham Young. I like facial hair on very few guys and my 16 yr. old son was one I didn't care for it on. Now I no longer can pull on the hair on his chin and I am happy with that. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Excited & I Have Been Tagged

I am so excited yet scared of jinxing it but I have to tell someone, there is a wonderful nip in the air like FALL is actually here!! There was one a while back but didn't last very long. Last night we actually turned off the air conditioning and slept with the windows open. Everyone slept so good, even little Talmage slept all night long. I love fresh, crisp, cool air to sleep with. In Pinetop I loved to sleep with the windows open and we had this one coyote that would be out in the field near our master bedroom window and howl at least once a week. He sounded like he had a sore throat though. It was very funny and entertaining! I miss him and Pinetop. I will greatly miss snow this year.
So I went out and did some lawn work. Actually it was trimming bushes and cleaning up flower beds. I also swept the front porch area and cleaned our door so I can put back up Fall decorations. Happy days with Thanksgiving coming and preparing for that and Christmas I have a lot to do. So I will finish my post and get to work.

1. I don't like drawers or toilets being left open.
2. I don't like touching socks, clean, dirty, mine or someone else's YUCK! So worth repeating.
3. I wash my hands more than 100 times a day.
4. Way back when I was young I use to model and retired when I was 21. Got tired of starving myself and the scum in that field.
5. I love the smell of a babies breath when they are not on formula. I know that sounds weird but it is a innocent smell. Maybe too much info. Am I weird?
6. I love old movies and wished I could have lived in the 40's and 50's I am so not in my time zone here.
7. I eat some kind of chocolate everyday of my life! Shocking I know.

Again

I know what you are thinking "How many times does she plan on posting today? SHeesh!" I just got an email from Leslie, who has the Whatcha Working on Wednesday. She lives in PA where I was born and lived till almost 5 yrs. old. Anyway, she went hunting last night with her DH, Jer. (you can read about it on her sweet blog My Country Home). They were headed home and she took this picture of my old house.
I have posted a picture of it before but it was from 1965. I was so excited to get this. It means so much to me Leslie! Thank you so much. What great people we make into friends out in the blogging land. Hugs, Bobbi Jo

Best Laid Plans

OK so you know that saying The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Alright my plans have gone AWRY. It bugs me that I have all these great things to do and want to do then time just get's away from me. I am still shooting toward having some fun craft time today being that it is almost 2 and I haven't done much of what was planned. I don't think I am alone on this otherwise I don't think this saying would have stuck around since 1937. I do know the book The Grapes of Wrath, is a required reading in college. Well at least it use to be. Shows you how old I am. HE HE
I did get some great deals at Fry's they are having a buy 10 mega sale. I spent $15.00 and saved $48.70 on the first one, and then spent $47.80 and saved $37.17. I had a few items that weren't under that sale on the second but I had a savings of 57%. Not bad for the budget. I am happy about that.
Now my plan is to work on some of those things and see what I end up in the end of the evening.

Whatcha Working on Wednesday

It is time for Whatcha Working on Wednesday with Leslie on her blog . Today Coco and I are going to hit the deals at Fry's early as possible. When we get home I have some crafts that I would like to work on a couple of cute Christmas decorations, need to paint the armoire (priming is a pain, sanding didn't work) ARRRR! Anyway, I also am making a chandelier cover for the cord and I also have an apron I would like to put together. We will see how much I get done today. The girls get out of school early and I am picking up today, then picking up Dallas then E'lyse after her game today so afternoons are rough for me to get a lot accomplished at one time.
One more funny thing. Last night my DH came home and he had been gone a long time for a meeting. I asked him if he was afraid to come home to me due to the election results. He said no, he is more worried I am going to go into a great depression. I thought that was funny! I get way to involved in the politics and I can feel my blood pressure rising and I have to step back and not focus on it. It will all be good. Just wanted to share with you. Proposition 102 passed and I am so happy about this & Sheriff Joe Arpio was reelected! Yeah!

Sadness

May I say that I am very disappointed and sadden that Sen. McCain and Sen. Palin didn't win the election. I was so not wanting to watch any reports today but I couldn't help myself. It was like an addiction. After Dallas & E'lyse came up to tell me, I found out my little Faith who has been rooting for Sen. McCain right by me was crying in bed about him losing. To be honest I was really wanting Sarah Palin to be in there and get some of the good old basics of conservatism back in the US. Maybe some time in the future.
Now all I can do is pray for our great country. I will do my best to pull up my boot straps and work on being a good person and standing up for what is right. I am happy that so far Prop. 102 is passing. So now on with my life, crafting, cooking making our home beautiful, being a good wife and mother. I will continue to listen to Rush to educate myself on the politics and just be a happy person. Have a good night.

Cheer & Vote

Yesterday was Elyse's first 2 games to cheer. There were some of the squad that weren't allowed to cheer due to grades being below standard, so the girls who could cheered at 2 games. E'lyse said she was a little nervous and only forgot a little bit of one cheer but she had a good time. E'lyse has been in cheer before a couple years back and enjoyed it. I didn't go to the games but I made sure I got pictures when she got home. Excuse my son, Dallas, in the background of the pictures.

Weekend & We Support Our Troops

The weekends go by way to fast. Saturday Alan took the girls out to lunch and shopping for a little while so I had a few hours by my self. WeIrD!
Sunday was a good day. We had regional conference in our church. The speakers were very uplifting and full of positive thoughts. We got home from church and Coco, Kyle and Talmage had made it back home. It was good to see them. I made a roast, mash potatoes and gravy for dinner. I also made Buttermilk Pie. I found the recipe on Tina's blog Cherry Hill Blossom. She has a beautiful blog with wonderful recipes. And I have to tell you, this is one of the easiest pies to make and so so so GOOD! YUMMY!! I couldn't believe for something so simple could be so good. Thank you Tina for sharing your family recipe.
Today as I was reading blogs of the family I found my sister in love had posted some pictures of her 2 sons that are serving in the military. Then I go over to my niece who has picture posted of the same guys who are her brothers. SO I decided to follow. I borrowed the pictures from their blogs. Thank you Renee' & Meredith!
I love this country and I am so thankful for the brave men and women who serve, have served and will be serving for our freedom. We are so blessed to have the freedom of speech and the constitution to lead us. So I am posting my nephews pictures also. Thank you to all those who serve us. I love the saying ,"

I am very proud of these two guys choosing to protect and serve our Fine Country.
I knew in 7th grade when our choir sang for Ronald Regan's Republican Convention that I was hooked on politics. Then in high school being in ROTC for the Air Force I realized what a wonderful county we had and the pride grew from there.
Make sure you go out and vote tomorrow if you haven't already. You can't complain if you don't vote.
